Slow Days on Gaia: Home Depot Dream Girl Arc

Ancestress of our Youth

"How to talk to short people"

Artwork for Spectralidax's Iron Sleet RPG, which has just released. Give it a look; I can confirm it's fun!

Okay, one more Reina before I pivot back to other work.

Refining and clarifying details of the gear layered over Reina's bodysuit- prompted by the recent paintings.

Counterpart to the funny 2005 painting- alternate version in Current Year Tekka-vision.

I recently saw someone lamenting that digital artists have forgotten how to paint like it's 2005. In fact, we still have this power. Plastic is the only material you need, actually. Abhor flatness. Over-render everything.

Four "class exemplars" from last year's Inktober drawings, canonized as a party of named characters.

Fresh design pass on my Basilisk. The "glare of death" isn't actually eyes, but a pair of vibrant toxin sacs inside its mouth. It can aerosolize its petrifying toxin by roaring.

Design exploration for Dragon's Will: fighterman can-pair-with-a-shield-type weapons.

"Why yes, I did main Green Knight back in the day. How could you tell?" Drawn for A Green Knight Art Contest, recently hosted by @thebehemoth.com !

Design pass for Lunar Cleric Yvonne, to reflect some recently solidified lore and to call out some details that have been canon forever but aren't immediately visible.

Pencil sketch from last year, hastily colored. I feel like this sketch captured a sense of solidity that's important to Reina's figure, that I struggle to replicate intentionally.

Perhaps a fortress, or perhaps a temple. It looms over the mossy and rain-beaten north slope of the Indras.

All across the northern reaches can be found a clan of violet-eyed healers. The common legend is that they are descended of a pale people who fell from Luna.

Ink wash with digital color.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Reina is a very deep and emotionally complex character.

First proper Reina post of the year is... trousers? Providing some detail clarification on the recent redesign.

Mix of old and recent work; revisiting the designs for Reina's former squadmates Phoebe 7 Alpha and Gray 7 Gamma.

More outfit sketches I forgot to share. Trent's phenotype continues inching toward "White Ganondorf"

One more revision of these sketches; testing out a different mono-color direction for the ninja trousers that pairs better with layered accessories. I've also tried to give them a more unified construction style.

One last drawing of the year 2024, a gift for the endlessly talented @tekkacroe.bsky.social! Happy New year everyone :) 🎉✨

I'm really happy with how Reina's recently redesigned chestplate/harness has shaped up. (Sketched during a late-night hangout)

Sketchbook page. Weather's is getting chilly.

Bi-Weekly Traditional Media Readiness Drill (I'm continuing to enjoy using the dip pens for lineart)

Recent armor design sketches that got stuck in the backlog since I didn't want to interrupt the daily art challenges.

Sweater weather has finally returned.

Inktober 31: The Dragon's Challenge "If thou would see the world rid of me, take up arms, and test thy nails against mine own!"

Inktober 30: Harpy These large predatory birds have a well-earned reputation as man-eaters. Their calls can change from sonorous to disorienting on a whim.

Inktober 29: Keepsake A heavy bronze bangle, found while exploring ruins as a youth. While it minutely enhances the wearer's Physick, its value is mostly sentimental.

Inktober 28: Monster Hunter

Inktober 27: Spearheads

Inktober 26: Catnap

Inktober 25: Solar Knights

Inktober 24: Ranger's Respite (Thank goodness I scanned the lineart, because the final lighting came out totally unsalvageable.)

Inktober 23: Dig Town The largest settlement in the western frontier, built into a collapsed subterranean ruin. Most of the town is built into the outer layers of the ruin complex.
