Senate Democrats: 213 of your fellow Democrats in the House stood up to the Republicans' attempt to enable a monarchy. Do NOT play "Follow the Leader" in the Senate! Vote AGAINST cloture and let Republicans explain why they didn't work with Democrats on a compromise.

The Senate should not vote for cloture. House Democrats should return to Washington and announce they are ready to negotiate and ask the Republicans to join them to find a common ground to stop the shutdown. And if they do not return, and are not holding town halls, call them out daily or more.

I just called one of my senators, sent an email to the other, and wrote to Schumer asking him to reconsider his decision. You know the Kennedy Center chairman will be crowing loud and long about his victory and the willingness of the Democrats roll over and play dead.

If I hear one more "pundit" call Social Security entitlement, I want them to give up claims to their "entitlement" now and have the money sent to a cancer research charity of their choice that they are not affiliated with. And have their employer do the same.

If any fired government worker wants to go back into the building, just walk up to security and say "I was fired yesterday, but they want to unfire me today." Chances are it will work because (a) they don't know and (b) it is probably true.
