Chicago is a gorgeous, vibrant, and yes, VERY SAFE city where the overwhelming majority of people are friendly and kind. The "Chicago is a violent wasteland" narrative is racist bullshit. Do certain areas need better funding and fewer (ie no) cops? You betcha. But the people are awesome.
