I’m the face in the crowd no one sees. Liberal, progressive, retired, female, poor & still high spirited. We are all worthy of dignity, justice and better lives.

If the wealthy people are the real enemy than any action that deprives them of accumulating more wealth is an act of rebellion.

The true enemies have always been the unscrupulous power-hungry rich. Politics is a cover story. The manipulation of politicians & political parties is the method by which they gain more control & more wealth. Old story. Different faces.

If you want to share pics of yourself in a shiny, leather, sexy bikini & proclaim the celebration of kink, I’m okay with that. When it shows up on my feed I’m not as accepting. Wish I was.

Using a vocabulary that is sensitive to others is critical. My fear: a new terminology will gain the same negative connotations as long as a change in wording is not accompanied by a change of heart. Look what happened to “woke.”

In restaurant, quietly talking with husband about the weaponizing of Christianity in America… An obvious old-school Christian overheard & gave me the death stare. (I have burn marks from his laser eyes.) Sorry bearded-man with gold cross. Jesus loves me too.

Morning sneezes, anyone?

I’ve got to get off this hamster wheel covered with deadly spikes. I’ll still make snarky posts & try to drip dark humor…mostly just try…but I’ve had enough of the constant stream of horror. Now, I skim lightly. I suspect all the doom deepens cynicism & despair. Ain’t got time for that.

If I take a breath I remind myself that none of this is a surprise. The constant stream of latest stupid stunt reporting isn’t uncovering anything. This dizzy, disorienting swirl around the bowl must be replaced with focus and imaginary optimism. Yielding to despair will ruin us.

DJT is the tip of an iceberg. There has to be a dramatic shift in who are politicians are, how democracy works and how we participate in it. Change will require something we haven’t seen before. We haven’t done before. We haven’t known before. It will require millions of little heroes.

What if we created an alternate world than let the crazy one keep spinning while we took care of each other, spent time with each other, shared with each other and lived lives of greater peace? It might be the only way left.
