To me (non-lawyer), the Garcia case is analogous to Miranda. It's not about the person's guilt/innocence, it's about the process. Due process ensures fairness in the system. Systems have processes. Emotional appeals from either side are irrelevant legally. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miranda...
