People are going to die because the current administration is playing games with vaccine policy. This will also further reduce confidence in science and vaccination in general.

AI has massive potential (and pitfalls). But this? Late capitalism at its worst. AI companies are profiteering off taking jobs from people.

Happy International Museum Day! #museum

"Can you picture this year’s Christmas dinner? The Pope shows up with his seven-layer dip and gets accosted with, “The Walmart cashier said ‘Happy Holidays’ to me to deliberately persecute Christians—what are you gonna do about it, Your Holiness?!”

Wow. Listen to Bruce Springsteen kick off his European tour, talking about what is happening here.

If this video found you, take these 40 seconds to pause, breathe, and reset. Step into nature with the sound of flowing water found in Robert Irwin's Central Garden at the Getty Center. #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

One of grants frozen at Cornell: $6.7M (4 yrs) to develop heart pumps for babies born w/ heart defects. It took decades of work to get to point of prepping device for in-human clinical trials. No private company could do this. The cruelty of the Trump administration is heartbreaking. So to speak.

Happy Square Root Day (5/5/25) to all who celebrate! #math

He was the "first person to receive relief under Louisiana’s factual innocence statute... which expanded how prisoners can make innocence claims by allowing people to introduce new facts rather than simply raise constitutional violations as part of their post-conviction review process."

And now, a note on Bill Owens who, until this past week, was the executive producer of 60 Minutes. We’ll be back next week with another edition of 60 Minutes.

While presenting an award at the event known as the Oscars of Science, 'The Studio' star pointed out the irony of tech titans' support for the Trump administration's defunding of science. The potentially embarrassing comments were edited out.

We love the chorus of voices heard around the world today. Tomorrow, there'll be more of us. 📢🪧🌎 "There is nothing which can better deserve your patronage, than the promotion of science and literature. Knowledge is in every country the surest basis of public happiness." -George Washington

Can we get more of this? “The Japanese American National Museum will ‘scrub nothing,’ Fujioka said, and instead will highlight the importance of DEI. “Our community is based on diversity, equity is guaranteed to us in the Constitution, and inclusion is what we believe in,” Fujioka said.

Alt NEH. It’s a thing that exists. Give them a follow. They are on the front lines of saving our culture and our democracy.

Adorable. The Boston ducks have protest signs #handsoff

Maestro David Briskin led the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra and the audience in a rousing rendition of O Canada before the opening of Swan Lake. #ElbowsUp is not one of ballet’s traditional positions of the arms, but everyone in Canada is adapting.

The regime is now coming for the NEH. We know what to do. Time to defend an organization that does immense good for museums, the cultural sector in general, and the world. nhalliance.org/federal-fund...

On Monday, March 31, 2025 we learned that DOGE is targeting the NEH with the aim of substantially reducing its staff, cutting the agency’s grant programs, and rescinding grants that have already been awarded. Learn what steps you can take here: nhalliance.org/federal-fund...

This museum professional is immeasurably grateful for the support of our Australian friends and colleagues! We need all the help we can get - and Australia’s world-class museums are an example to all of us! 🇦🇺

It’s over. Elmo and 47 lost bigly. Democracy prevails for the day.

Today we're excited to launch our highly anticipated condiment line with two premier items: MANETaise and MONETaise. Kahlo Ketchup, Michelangelo Mustard, and Renoir Relish coming soon.

1 April 1939 | A Belgian Jewish boy, Rene Melzer, was born in Antwerp. He arrived at #Auschwitz in a transport from Mechelen on 18 January 1943. He was murdered after selection in a gas chamber.

IMLS costs taxpayers about 75 cents per person per year, to fund library programs that help everyone: Internet at libraries, children's literacy programs, talking books for the visually/physically disabled, and much more.

They put the entire IMLS staff on leave. One thing the agency does is provide infrastructure or funding for many public libraries and tribal libraries to connect to the internet. In 50 states! It's gonna suck when kids can't do homework, adults can't apply for jobs, and seniors don't get services.

With < 100 employees & a budget that accounts for just 0.0046% of the federal budget, IMLS still manages to deliver meaningful impact across the nation. Eliminating it does nothing to reduce 'the elements of the Federal bureaucracy'—it’s simply a war on culture. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/31/a...

IMLS has been shut down and staff put on administrative leave. “Employees were required to turn in all government property prior to exiting the building, and email accounts are being disabled today. Are our grants on hold? Who knows? #museum federalnewsnetwork.com/workforce/20...
