The only two episodes I've really liked of the Russell Davies #DoctorWho stretch have been "Lucky Day" and "Wild Blue Yonder". Jonah Hauer-King's Conrad brought something "real" to the mix. Varada Sethu deserved better. I won't miss Gatwa, I'm afraid. I hope Davies changes direction very seriously.

Just heard Prentis Hancock, shouty and glowery in the "Dr Who" and "Space: 1999" obsessions of my youth, has died. He mellowed into a John Hurt-ish salty character actor as he matured. Another slice of our formative years, stripped away from us. RIP. Alpha Out...

Watched "Sinners". Basically "Crossroads", "Near Dark", "The Thing, "Prince Of Darkness" dropped into a blender, with added Stephen King. Well-acted, well-directed, very well photographed. Impressive production design. Felt it needed 10 to 20 minutes cutting to pick up the pace. #Filmsky
