This and TURNING RED are a masterclass in messy animated female characters. They’re allowed to be goblin-y, petty, selfish, loud, make weird goofy faces, do things wrong, and they have baggage and flaws that aren’t just “I’m a manic clumsy optimist, uwu!”

Living with chronic illness means adapting to a baseline that would send non disabled people to hospital. It means never knowing for certain when something is an emergency, because your body hurts all the time. It means a new definition for “better”, as even the good days are a struggle.
