Happy for this bear, but disappointing we don’t get a post-procedure photo of his beautiful/terrifying new smile.

That’s a hard 44.

Dear Brad Lander,

How could anybody vote for fast & free buses, freezing rent, no cost childcare, city-run groceries, protecting our neighbors from ICE, keeping NYC a sanctuary city, and a return to $8 halal cart?

Optimistically, you might click through, hoping the context makes it somewhat better. It really doesn’t.

Today’s Mood in NYC.

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done. My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it. I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

Socialism, tonight, defeated barbarism. After the two-decade midnight of 9/11, dawn is breaking.

Hard to believe it was only last November when we all stayed up so late on an election night, only that time it felt like the world was ending. This is so much better.

this is so much better than the last time we were all new yorkers

You know what sounds nice? Governor Brad Lander. That sounds nice.

Sometimes a good guy with a simple platform to make people’s lives better is the right candidate.

Correction: Fix The City NYC spent $20.5M… And lost.

NEW YORK (AP) — Andrew Cuomo concedes New York City Democratic mayoral primary to Zohran Mamdani.

He didn’t even run his own campaign! He outsourced running for mayor!

Imagine if the Democratic Party actually helped Zohran instead of trying to kneecap him at every step. A better party is immediately possible if they stop shoving money into the anti-trans combination Racism Dial/Money Toilet and instead get behind candidates people actually want.

Zohran just might be the one.

If Cuomo loses every New Yorker should get to give him one free kick in the balls. Two if he wins

Fix The City NYC spent $20.5M. Maybe for absolutely nothing.

This is just all of us leaning out our windows and saying “Can you believe this?” to all of you! Like neighbors!

I get how aggravating social media must be right now for anyone who doesn’t live in nyc, but unfortunately it’s reminded me of what I love about this stupid place. a city full of people who are too annoying to live anywhere else and simply will not shut up and I love all of us so much sorry!!

We’ve got until 9pm. Make that call, send that text, canvass that poll site—these are the moments that decide this race.

good morning nyc, it really is “first paragraph of acclaimed debut novel” outside today (“on the last day to vote for a new mayor, the heat in New York City hit 102 degrees by four in the afternoon”) stay safe and stay cool and try to help your elderly and unhoused neighbors stay cool too if you can

Trees. They’re good.

ITALIAN GRANDMOTHER IN LINE AT VILLABATE: i no trust-ah Zorhan Mamdani.... he-ah too skinny *phone beeps* ITALIAN GRANDMOTHER: ohhhh... he looka so good now! *suspiciously* now it Antonio Cuomo who look too skinny

My alma mater is at number two in this list. Deer as plentiful as squirrels, ghosts around every corner, half of an entire mountain on campus, and sinkholes caused by the nearby quarry threatening to swallow a shocking percentage of the architecture. All hail, @berrycollege.bsky.social, all hail.

Calling on any magic left in this antique coffee cup to make this a good election day in NYC. #VoteZohran #DontRankCuomo

I wrote about the Democrats’ embrace of Andrew Cuomo. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

A huge thanks to the NYT and Helena for giving me something to do with my brain for ten or fifteen minutes that wasn’t “Worrying about the NYC Mayoral Race” or “Worrying about the Middle East” or “Worrying about ICE kidnapping people.” Anyway, here’s some movies.

Look, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social said “Mets,” and that’s a fine answer. But @bradlander.bsky.social posting up for the NY Liberty was an even better answer.

They made the man look like the incredibly kind director of a local cat café.

BREAKING: codebreakers have finally solved the Zodiac’s final cypher. After years of studying and many (MANY) attempts, experts have agreed that the decoded message reflects Zodiac’s last will and testament. it reads: ANDREW CUOMO FOR NYC MAYOR 2025

What are we even doing here?

It’s entirely possible that @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social might just pull this off.

On Friday night, we walked the length of Manhattan, from Inwood Hill to Battery Park. New Yorkers deserve a Mayor they can see, hear, even yell at. The city is in the streets.

On the eve of the NYC Dem Primary, here’s a reminder of how Cuomo isn’t actually running his own campaign. Instead, all the work is being done and funded by Fix The City, Inc., an independent expenditure committee (IE) designed to do an end-run around campaign contribution limitations.

The brand collab NYC needs.

A thing that’s been stuck in my head for a day and a half now is how the phrase “Make Iran Great Again” would necessitate a reestablishment of the Achaemenid Empire of 550-330BC which covered like 2.1 million square miles from the Balkans heading east into the Indus Valley.

Oh my god it’s happening: emersoncollegepolling.com/new-york-cit...
