I picked up an old book a while ago on prototype and design study cars from the 50s, 60s and 70s because they were fantastic reference for TOS and especially movie-era starship design. Hell, take the wheels off and some of these things are ready-made warp nacelles!

Everything sucks so I treated myself to a newspapers.com subscription and I’ve already gotten my money’s worth by discovering that in the 1920s and 30s they reported on everything the locals did. Apparently my grandparents went to their friend’s house on a Saturday night in July of 1936.

When I was working on the Endeavor vanity shield I started off looking at the gold/silver icons of the Endeavor perks but then soon realized it reminded me of the "yellow" Stargazer model from Picard's ready room. Then I just leaned into it, while keeping a metallic/gold feel!
