I mean this in an encouraging way: try to unlearn your disgust of “creepy” crawlies. While not always easy, it is so richly rewarding to develop an appreciation for some of the most numerous and fascinating animals that you can see just about every time you go outside. There is wonder everywhere.

Hey #kidlit, looking to fill a gap in a set of ready to go spreadsheets by mid day tomorrow. Looking for realistic landscapes + competent handling of people for a nonfiction picture book. Reply w/ relevant samples. No DMs please. Thanks! 💙❤️

stop trying to find alternatives to harry potter that are going to just be a lite version of something you loved because you associated it with a specific time in your life and start finding things that appeal to you in your adulthood. stop trying to replace nostalgia with a stand in

this year is going good

Do I know anyone here who teaches in-person art classes? Have some top level questions about it, hoping to ask someone. Can be for kids or adults. Not in a college or university; more like art camps or workshops.

Baturday art posting. #Art #Bats

Neil banging out the tunes #art

Wanna get good at the arts? You don't need to spend $$$$ on schooling you just need to find that one character you are obsessed with and want to make fanart/fanfic/merch of 1000 times. And then you will get good in no time :)

Art is such an integral form of humanity and communication, is IS humanity and communication..AND resistance. Dont forget that.

This is son number one. Just a jaunty little fellow.

Z z z zines! Grab one at the Winnipeg Punk Rock Flea Market this weekend 📚

Hey #kidlit illustrators! I'm looking for an artist to work on a picture book who can capture both the grandeur of vast arctic landscapes AND the intimacy of a family's story peppered with wildlife. Share samples below. Please no DMs. Agents feel free to email. 💙❤️ #artshare #art #illustration

Kinda itching to do the 48 hour film challenge again this year because adrenaline makes brain go brrr

It's always fun to draw fish... or anything inspired by the depths of the ocean. #nonfictionbook #natureillustration

yeah like i didn’t decide to be an artist for clout its just that i have a pathological need to make stuff. it’s an all-consuming compulsion that is emotionally debilitating if i don’t do it. it’s only my job bc i decided “eh i should probably try to monetize this since i have to do it anyway” hahah

Speaking of chickadees (always), here's some little guys just hanging out, probably gossiping a little about the fella in the middle. #birds

Once again I ask authors of post apocalyptic SFF: why aren’t your characters using bicycles? Do you know how many years it takes to breed and train a large population of hoofstock to working age? Bikes are cheaper, don’t need to be fed,&if you’ve got tire rubber for magic cars, you’ve got bike tires

I've taught many people new to gamedev from kids to adult, from a practical educator lens I believe the main difference people credit to kids learning faster or easier than adults is they aren't yet consciously trying to avoid temporarily looking like a beginner at something adding alt text to help

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s okay to share and do what you love, even now—especially now. Things feel really urgent—because they are—but connection and joy matter too. Taking care of yourself doesn’t mean you’re not paying attention. It means you’re human.

saw a video that asked what your most unhinged neurodivergent productivity hacks are and saw this one: “if I really need to get something done, I will make one of my socks wet, I can only change them when the task is completed.” 😖

Drawing is a mechanical skill. Drawing well is a function of time, discipline, repetition, and patience. Anyone can do it, if they choose to learn how. Nothing is stopping you from grabbing a pencil and paper and starting to learn how.
