In about 1990 in Chicago, I was in a bank teller line and Billy Corgan came to say hi to the woman in front of me in line, who he knew. She asked how he was doing, and he said “Hey, really good, I just got a record deal.” She said “oh, that’s great”

Our home-renovation contractor is a great guy - an immigrant from Mongolia with limited English Lately we've realized that hist texts to us have been written by ChatGPT or similar. They are effective (just conversations about schedule), but with startling length, fluency, vocabulary, and good cheer

Seeing Kendrick Lamar at Oracle Park

Bad news for solar today To my surprise, EIA projects there were will be *less* new utility-scale solar capacity added in the U.S. in the next 12 months than in the prev 12 months. What's up with that? (See the Solar subtotal row of the Jan 25 - Feb 25 report www.eia.gov/electricity/...)

Going to see Kraftwerk at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley

Make this go viral! Her husband’s life was put at risk by the Signal texts.

When Musk is about to do away with a government agency, I wish that one of his Silicon Valley Rationalist friends would point him to Chesterton's Fence: www.lesswrong.com/w/chesterton...

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell. This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

I like Mark Cuban, but unfortunately there is not going to be room for him in the 2026 Democratic "No billionaires!" campaign

Fun energy fact: Arizona has more installed battery capacity than the entire U.S. east of the Mississippi

Here's my latest climate piece: A NIMBY Conversation In which a renewable-energy zealot from San Francisco reaches out to talk to rural community members opposed to a solar energy project. The conversation goes well … at first. medium.com/@timconverse...

New via NYT — The CIA sent the White House an unclassified email listing all employees hired by the spy agency over the last two years to comply with an executive order to shrink the federal work force. One former agency officer called the reporting of names a “counterintelligence disaster.”

“Musk is reaching too far. And we intend on making sure justice is served.” The head of a federal employees union explains why they’re suing the Trump administration over DOGE’s “unprecedented” privacy violations. Interview ⤵️

We're going to be outside Treasury tomorrow at 5 PM to ask Elon Musk what he's doing with our money. SHARE AND JOIN US: www.mobilize.us/moveon/event...

Just RT’d this over at the Bad Place and it was like shaking a jar of red ants. #fun

Elon Musk is a terrible president.

Watching today's Trump Q&A live Someone please ask about the access of Musk and his interns to the payment systems and associated classified info! There was a generalized question about Musk and about USAID, but nothing specific yet about the payments system

In all seriousness, this is what will hurt Musk the most. Hit Tesla.

My fear is we are headed toward some Tiananmen scenario where people mobilize to try stop the Trump administration from carrying this agenda out with peaceful protest and the Trump team orders the military to shoot/repress with violence. That ends maybe like Bangladesh or like Hong Kong.

No one's blaming Democrats for causing this crisis, but yes, many of them are failing to meet this moment. One Democratic senator could bring the chamber to a halt. House Dems can go to fed agencies being gutted by Musk with cameras in tow. Governors can push back. State AGs can bring lawsuits.
