They are not considering the offer; they are laughing at it

Herbert Hoover called international services "invisible exports". A real undercommented on fact is that at the same time as Trump pretends to be trying to shrink our trade deficit he attacks some of the U.S.'s biggest service export industries. U.S. exports of services were 30.7% of exports in 2022

Bonne fête @croquebitume.bsky.social

Trump surrenders again while declaring victory.

Trump understands that tariff threats like the ones he posted this morning move markets downward. He's not ignorant about that dynamic. The question is which person or interest around him is gaining from it.

The absolute disgrace taking place today in front of cameras in the White House is yet another reminder that for all the talk of Joe Biden's failures, the people who failed America the most are our citizens. Empowering this guy (again) was a foreseeable disaster we'll be lucky to survive.

This head of Trump’s gestapo just told congress that habeas corpus is Trump’s right to detain you, not your right to challenge it. See where this is going?

Wait…but I thought Trump said other countries were going to pay the tariffs.

Dr. Jill Biden has a doctorate in education, not a medical degree in oncology. But thanks for coming to remind us how deep the ignorance runs in the Trump family.

You know you’re winning when you post “We are NOT the Gestapo!”

The dictator of Trumpland...

That would be a pretty neat trick given that’s five times their GDP

Sure, Trump finally blinked on Chinese tariffs, but at least he accomplished nothing.

i find this statement very credible

Like the WWE... Entertainment... All fake, but a lot people believe it.

No way.... We will not visit Trumpland....

Via "One First," me on why Stephen Miller's riff on suspending habeas corpus is not just factually and legally wrong (in multiple respects), but reflects a dangerous escalation in the Trump administration's rhetorical attacks on the courts: www.stevevladeck.com/p/148-suspen...

As usual, @stevevladeck.bsky.social does a great service with this post.

Even *if* you accept Stephen Miller’s (textually, historically, and morally indefensible) claim that undocumented immigrants are not entitled to due process, you’d *still* need due process to ensure that the individuals at issue are, in fact, undocumented. His argument fails even on its own terms.
