I like words. Long words. Words that sound good. Made up words. Pleasing combinations of words. Grammar is for losers. I like other stuff too like geekery, travel, photography, allotmenteering, food/cookery/baking. I blog at https://Whitemore.com

Reform should never appear on TV without a fact checker. And they should never be able to try & rubbish climate action without someone saying 92% of their external donations came from fossil fuel & climate denying companies. Party for the billionaires. Fact check below from @desmog.com

Britain has no idea - in terms of its self-image, not economists obviously - what economy it actually has One of my favourite facts to point out is: at over £8bn annually, the *videogames industry* is more than twice as valuable to the UK economy as fishing and steel combined.

Tax wealth. Not work.

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.  Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

Funny how things are only "unworkable" when they affect the rich. I'll tell you something that's "unworkable" - taking benefits from the disabled that they need to live independently so rich people pay less tax.

The Greens now have nearly 200 more councillors than Reform. This is not something you'd be likely to guess from all the copiously salivating media coverage of Farage & his crew of billionaire-backed far-right chancers.

Never in doubt #dcfcfans

Following confidently from Puglia. Quite happy to get occasional updates and not sweat over every kick 😂 Keep the faith #dcfcfans

This feels frighteningly accurate. And at the end of this dead-end road lies electoral defeat in 2029 and the end of Labour as a party of government. (People still resent the LibDem "betrayal" on student tuition fees. How do you think they will view Labour laying out the welcome mat for Farage?)

HHHUUUGGGEEEEE!!! The most Derby of performances! #dcfcfans

Armstrong brought down in box. Ref books him! Terrible decision. Hope he sees that at half time and levels it up 2nd half #dcfcfans

A positive thought. If we win at Hull (we've got a good chance IMO) we could be effectively safe by the final game. Keep the faith #dcfcfans

Magnificent performance. Pleased for NML - so composed. Adams adding guile and decision making touch to his game! Vickers impressive. Fight and discipline all over the pitch. Rivals mostly won but won't have been expecting our result. In our hands 👊 #dcfcfans

Selling a second home is never a struggle - just bring the price down to one that someone will pay bit.ly/3Ro7EED forget what you think it’s worth or indeed what you paid

FWIW I think we have as much a chance of points on Monday as today. Doesn't mean we'll win but we're quite capable of it. Keep the faith #dcfcfans

Sickening result. Never going to be the stroll some #dcfcfans expected. First half so poor. It's not over yet but we have to do so much better from the start on Monday

Knocking on the door. Need to keep the pressure on them. They're in the bottom 3 for a for a reason #dcfcfans

Such a mediocre showing 1st half. Got to come out swinging 2nd half #dcfcfans

Really poor decision making and quality at key moments going forward so far. Frustrating #dcfcfans

The UK car industry contributes £22bn to the economy and employs c 35k people. Universities contribute £265bn and employ nearly 400k, over 10x as much. Yet he seems ok to let that sector implode.

We need to tighten up with the soft goals - unlike us - but we're creating plenty going forward. Keep the faith #dcfcfans

Wow, a roller coaster. We really should have won that. Created much better chances. 2 soft goals to concede but no other real chances for them apart from the pen. Still, a point away from home and miraculously no sendings off #dcfcfans

This could finish 3-3 in goals or red cards #dcfcfans

We should be leading 3-1 here 🤯 #dcfcfans

Crazy start. From conceding a penalty and almost getting a red card we could be ahead already. Looking like a roller coaster of a game #dcfcfans

Kurt Vonnegut man

A richly deserved point. We put the leaders under a lot of pressure and had the best chances. The pretty football can wait until next season. This style is effective for now #dcfcfans

Burnley trying to slow things down. That tells you a lot about the pressure we've been putting them under #dcfcfans

Fabulous move out of nothing and we are so close to scoring. More of that please #dcfcfans

For all of His talents Langas needs to grow a brain. Furthest man forward and gets a senseless booking when there is zero risk behind him. JE must tear his hair our at times #dcfcfans

Burnley look very assured. You can see why they are top. We are wasting our few moments of possession. Still level that's the important thing #dcfcfans

Beetroot planted. Those dark red roots are a sign of things to come #allotment

Lucky for Starmer most people have forgotten his 10 pledges he made when running for Labour leader, given he's abandoned so many, including: free movement, higher income tax for top 5%, higher corporation tax, abolish UC, common ownership of rail/mail/energy and water, no more NHS outsourcing, etc.

Why do we feel poor in one of the richest countries in the world? Because the wealth isn’t shared. The UK’s richest didn’t earn their fortunes — they inherited them. Dynasty not meritocracy. But, argues @stephenmcnair.bsky.social, a wealth tax is not the answer.

Very unlucky today #dcfcfans. Tactical masterclass to stifle Swansea and undone in one moment. Stats lie sometimes
