I came across this article that proposes to expand PTSD Criterion A to include experiences like psychological violence, neglect, identity-based violence, and harm caused by systemic/institutional influences.

What I particularly like about the paper is that it shows that you don't have to give up even if full identification is impossible. Sometimes all you get is partial identification and thus bounds around what you want to estimate, which can still be somewhat informative.

Looks like good programme options are available for early career researchers attending #SPRKrakow2025! Structured discussions on #MentalHealth in academia and how to build your career path w @andrewathan.bsky.social and other NOBsky #ECRs #PsychotherapyResearch #HiddenCurriculum

Congratulations @sarahdanboeck.bsky.social!🏆 Our colleague Dr. Sarah Danböck was awarded the Research Award of the Clinical Psychology & Psychotherapy Division of the DGPs for a study on #dissociation in PTSD, published in the Journal of Psychopathology and Clinical Science: doi.org/10.1037/abn0...

from Zoltan Dienes: Wiley has banned all its journals from ever accepting an article that has been considered by Peer Community In, a preprint based reviewing and accepting(/rejecting) platform. I believe they realise if we can do the job for ourselves, free for authors and readers, they are ...

Titles of papers with WEIRD samples: "Inhibitory learning in humans" With non-WEIRD samples: "Inhibitory learning in university students in the Baluchistán province of Pakistan" Aren't there any guidelines for choosing appropriate paper titles yet?

Paper by @lknochelmann.bsky.social now published in the European Journal of Social Psychology 🥳 In an intervention tournament, we investigated how to best enhance a person’s intellectual humility. --> doi.org/10.1002/ejsp...

New preprint🤓 LLMs have great potential in the educational context! If LLMs reliably simulate survey responses, they could be used to test intervention scenarios, represent hard-to-reach populations, etc. But are generated survey responses psychometrically valid? It depends. arxiv.org/abs/2506.13384

Personality psych people: we often read a lot about how personality traits like the Big Five (and unfortunately, very often "dark triad") predict success or choice of jobs. But are there also studies that show that working in certain jobs leads to changes in personality?

This pie is of similar quality as Lambert's pie.

Very excited about this new preprint, and grateful to our team!

Stop trying to recruit "superstar" scientists to Ireland from the US. Instead try: Diverting excellent PhD students and postdoctoral scientists who would otherwise be on their way to US to land here instead Investing in the research infrastructure needed to attract and retain excellent scientists

Great work led by @hadarfisher.bsky.social and Haya Fatimah on how emotion regulation dynamics during adolescence predict future depressive symptoms

A mediation with sensitivity analysis. In clinical psychology! 😍

People are so poorly trained on power analysis, and so trained to focus just on significance, that they have no ability to think about estimation. Small sample size? Well, you can still: 1. Report your estimated effects and uncertainty 2. Report what effects you COULD have detected given N 1/3

Extremely niche shitpost

Finally this is over.

Good to see that proponents of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy (MDMA-AP) acknowledge the cost-effectiveness issue associated with MDMA-AP. academic.oup.com/alcalc/artic... @ioanaacristea.bsky.social @floriannaudet.bsky.social

„Für eine Familie mit zwei Kindern ergebe sich daraus für Hin- und Rückfahrt eine Preissteigerung von mehr als 100 Prozent, von zuvor 20,80 Euro auf 44 Euro.“ 🆗🆒

A relatively new approach to quantifying reliable change was proposed, using a latent variable / multilevel modeling approach.

"Through extensive experimentation across diverse puzzles, we show that frontier LRMs face a complete accuracy collapse beyond certain complexities."

It seems problematic to me that the performance of an LLM in psychometric tests is interpreted as an indicator of their abilities outside of the test.
