Brief as it was, #Digimon Beyond was everything I wanted in a Digimon Adventure sequel series. From the brief snippets of characterization and the updated designs... much more so than the morose portentousness of Tri. and Kizuna. Hopefully they do more with it and we treat it like an alt. timeline.

Just want to highlight my favorite new Shonen Jump series Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi. It's a terrific send-up of the recent exorcist manga fad with excellent comedy and kinetic action (unsurprising from one of Eichiro Oda's former assistants). Do give it a read if you like action comedies like I do.

Easy for me to say, perhaps, since Souls games aren't my jam, but DLCs and Expansions should probably have their own category. I don't think Erdtree should be nominated, or win, over FF7 Rebirth, Metaphor:Re Fantazio, or Astro Bot. That's my lukewarm take #GameAwards2024

I'm a bit leery to wade into the Dragon Age: The Veilguard discourse but I'm having fun with it. You can definitely feel the absence of certain atmospheric and lore elements, but the team behind the game also got a lot right. A mixed bag to be sure, but one I'm enjoying.
