Just a person that has no idea what he's doing in this weird new world. But I wouldn't call me lost. Currently reading light novels and web novels. I'll probably start a paper bound book soon. Up-to-date on the One Piece manga.

Scouting report: Le Reve https://www.diningandcooking.com/2002206/scouting-report-le-reve/ In summer 2008, Andrew Schneider and Therese Hittman opened a two-tiered, French cuisine inspired bistro and patisserie in the heart of Wauwatosa. Le Reve, 7610 Harwood Avenue, pairs a sleek, …

Never thought a Weird Al song about Santa going on a Rampage would lead to a discussion about guns with my child. But here we are. Bonus points to my spouse for also explaining the FBI.

Found some old CDs and got my child a CD player. Guess which house is listening to Weird Al and Belly all the time at home.

Cranky Al's for the Pazckis win. #wauwatosa

Checkerboard icebox cookies.

Found my old Calvin and Hobbs books and lent them to my Child. They were frustrated in the car because eating and reading at the same time is hard in the car. #mychild #readinglove

Let my kids friend try my orange poppy seed cookies. They got scared to try them since "dads can't cook". My child defended me by saying mine can.

Making orange poppy seed ice box cookies. I've tried a few variants and the original vanilla ones have been the best ones so far.

Needed to leave the house for stimulates this morning (coffee). Local donut shop owner mentioned how he was jealous I had an old winter hat from his shop still. His mom had gotten his last one and they don't stock it anymore. It's my precious! May post it later if I am feeling cute.

Going for a night hike in the snow covered nature area is not something I've done before but it was cool. Glad my parent friends convinced me to go. #wauwatosa

Work finally got me to turn my camera on for a meeting. I had to present something for discussion. One of my friends who I haven't seen in person in 6+ years now laughed at my beard. I get that it was a surprised wtf laugh, but part of me did feel small because of it.

My spouse made a dish too spicy for my child. Asked them if it was less spicy if they would like it. Their response was that they "can't taste the future".

Told my child that they had to do something and added sad but true. Then busted out singing "sad but true" Long story short, Metallica is now on their playlist.

I made a few things to learn, but the pictures just weren't good. In the past week I've made: Marinara Icebox cookies Brown sugar walnut icebox cookies Queso fundido If I get the energy I'll make coconut lime icebox cookies tomorrow.

Has anyone else gone down the rabbit hole of C dramas?

Forgot this existed.

Weird things made weirder/funnier in my life: Found an acoustic cover of Creep by Korn while in the car. My child started singing alone.

I made some salted peanut butter-pretzel-chocolate chip cookies. I'm happy with the batch and family is enjoying them.

For my birthday my child told me I need to only go down water slides appropriate for my age. After some family discussion the appropriate water slide for me is slow, blankets are ok for use on, and uses some topical analgesic mixed in the water.

I was chatting with a parent who does data driven marketing. I've spent a lot of time in my life obfuscating my data. So I asked can they still have a profile of me after explaining this. Response was yes but who would want to buy the profile. I was weirdly hurt.

Played a new (to us) board game with friends. It was taking too long and it felt like something was off. 3 hours later realizing we read the setup instructions wrong. Still lots of fun.

I now understand trying to figure out gas/heartburn vs heart attack.

Normally when someone runs at you full speed you get out of the way. When my child does it I just take the hit. Don't know how much longer I can do that, but the joy kind of makes up for it. Now to find where we put the Tylenol.

Scored a used (good condition) Knoll generation chair for $50. What stage of life is it when you are excited for getting an office chair?

I’m proposing to give Wisconsinites the power to change state law through ballot initiatives by majority vote at the ballot box. If Republicans are going to keep legislating by constitutional amendment, they should give Wisconsinites the same opportunity. Pretty simple. youtube.com/shorts/sYRi_...

Made fusilli with ricotta and spinach for dinner. Chopped a pound of spinach and burned my hand. So I forgot to take a picture. Spouse loved it. Child did not.

I'm now old. Was explaining payphones, card catalogs, and having lunch at 7-11 in 6th grade to my child.

Working out with spouse last night. Me: you think the machine listening. Spouse: no. Why? Me: I tell it to F Off after each set. Then the weight goes up for me but not you. #AIwantstokillme

Did a first day hike with the family yesterday. Does anyone else like to go to the beach in the winter time?

2025 marks 125 years of Wisconsin's State Parks! From Interstate State Park to Devils Lake to Big Foot Beach, you're never very far from one of our outstanding state parks, and this milestone celebration is a reflection of Wisconsin's proud history of conservation.

I feel weird and at the same time I love when a tiny voice starts accompanying me as I sing in the car. Tonight it was Radiohead's Creep.

About to end holiday travel and back to work tomorrow. Just looking forward to sleeping in my bed tonight.

Probably help make the donuts taste good too.

Made Pasta al limone. Family likes this one since it was a repeat.

Tales from my child's music class at the dinner table. Teacher: can anyone name a beetle? One kid raises hand: Dung beetle!

Tears for Fears meets classical Latin. This works better than it has any right to: youtu.be/Xtt78SW-mgg

At my child's recital, which was awesome. A little disappointed that the goth -ish teen who was listed as singing "Burn" didn't sing the NIN song when they were up. Still trying to figure out how the piano accompaniment would have worked out.

Penne with a homemade creamy tomato sauce.

My spouse has done all the holiday shopping. I like to purchase a small item from "Santa" and help the child also purchase gifts for those close. Spouse has asked me to stop since people don't need more stuff. It makes me sad. We're going to chat later.

Am I the only one who gets excited to see the waste management truck come by to pickup trash?

Workout update. Glutes ok. Proper footwear should be considered next time.
