How was Joe Biden forced out of a presidential race for a disastrous debate and for looking frail and for confusing names, but this man, one of the most ignorant men to ever be elected to any office, allowed to continue on as president and treated as a normal, serious leader??

Quick note to everyone pretending that Zohran Mamdani somehow favors communism, here’s the Republican president literally saying on camera that he wishes America were more like Communist China.

Quite a statement.

Democrats need to use every second to fight back against the Big Beautiful Bill. I’m helping hold the Senate all night and FORCE a full reading of this 940-page bill.

The singularity is awesome

Absolutely incredible turnout for Budapest Pride! So proud of all the organizers, including some old friends, who estimate hundreds of thousands— major embarrassment to Orban

There are only three political positions in America today 1) I like the fascism 2) I'll acquiesce to the fascism (reasons for this one vary: cowardice, access, denial, misguidedly thinking that acquiescence is savvy, etc) 3) I oppose the fascism The rest is details

Thank you @allyfromnola.bsky.social. Every fucking word of this.👇

I hadn’t heard it was going to be some Young James Bond thing.

"if the President signs an order to send everybody named Jimmy to Guantanamo Bay there's nothing a court can do to stop it unless someone files a class action lawsuit including every Jimmy in America" -six Supreme Court justices

If the Supreme Court thinks universal injunctions are unconstitutional, to wait until *now* to say that, in this of all cases, with this of all presidents, is a devastating indictment of both its impartiality and its prudence.

Will it chew our food for us as well?

If I'm running a news room now, I assign everyone who has done piece on Biden's final-years fitness-to-govern, and have them apply same standards here. (Once heard Bill Clinton give 45-minute ad-hoc on what diff *counties* in Arkansas had done in Civil War. Trump doesn't know WHAT YEAR it was.)

People need to understand, they are governing as if they're never going to give up power again.

So when do Blue states start banning firearms? And then start making every gun owner file an individual lawsuit seeking an individual injunction? Or they can go through the class certification process which, let me tell you having done it myself in litigation, takes forever. Let’s do this.

They're just televising the construction of concentration camps like it's a good thing. This is unimaginably dark.

And if I’m tracking this right, it’s letting parents opt out of, not having their children be made to read the book, but having their children be physically present in a classroom where the book is on a shelf. Madness.

Sorry, so what *is*the approved mechanism to leverage when a president issues an unambiguously unconstitutional order?

I assume if Biden had issued an Executive Order banning gun ownership, the ruling would have been the same?

“No one disputes that the Executive has a duty to follow the law.” Um. The president disputes it?

I have never seen an emptier statement than the highlighted sentence from Justice Barrett's majority opinion today. Whatever abstract "duty" the President has to follow the law, it's absolutely meaningless if he does not share that sense of duty and the courts cannot compel him to comply with it.

The highest court in our land has determined the government can deport human beings to countries not their own and without any legal review -- until at least such time as a court rules this unconstitutional. And, oh, the matter will be litigated for years. Welcome to the American gulag. It's here.

Always loved the people who are like, "But my ancestors came here the legal way!" and by that they mean they arrived via ratship to an island, a man asked them their name, they were like, "Uh, Jeff... Smith?" another guy said "sure?" and then they became permanent residents of the United States.

Never.

There'll never be a better mantra for the Trump regime "Forget About Intelligence"

The United States should not wage war against Iran. Donald Trump’s bombing of Iran is unconstitutional. Only Congress can declare war — and the Senate must vote immediately to prevent an another endless war. This is a horrific war of choice.

I'm just so weary. I feel like he's robbed us of ten years of our lives. And he's robbed our children of their futures in an America that will never exist again. I really can't imagine what's to come, but it fills me with dread. Fuck him. Fuck Fox News. Fuck the maga cult.

I just want to say for the record that when the history books are written centuries from now, I believe the election of Donald Trump in a free and fair election in 2024 will go down as one of the most senseless and self-destructive own goals in human history

It’s a good thing Congress isn’t alive to see this

Wonder if Democrats will do something now. (I know. I know.)

illegal war started by a man constitutionally ineligible to be president

Just as Iraq had no WMD, Iran has no nuclear weapons. America has entered another unnecessary war in the Middle East

When Tech Bros say they want Artificial General Intelligence, they’re saying that they want a human-level intelligence, a consciousness, a person — who can never quit, who doesn’t get paid, and who they own completely. They’re admitting that what they really want is slaves.

The “two weeks” is quite the cherry on the shit sundae.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.
