This speaks for a lot of us. open.substack.com/pub/johnpavl...

Holding ICE agents accountable for their actions ie. seizing people w/out due process reverberates the Nuremberg trials & The Adolf Eichmann Trial ('61-62) where "I was just following orders" proved to be no defense. Let's hope they see their day in court and have to explain their troubling actions.

Yes, I agree: ICE must be policed.

RIDDLE: What problem is Trump and Elon Musk trying to solve by issuing instant U.S. citizenships to "wealthy foreigners"? What does "quiet trial" mean? www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-sa...

How much do you want to bet that after all this pain, carnage and loss of talent - all in the name of “savings” - next year we will learn that spending is up, the deficit is up and the debt is higher?

Tulsi Gabbard deserves to be jailed for being a Russian asset.

There's someone who obviously believes that she'll never be held accountable for her crimes. Karma is a bitch, bitch.

Russia wants to erase Ukraine as a nation and independent country. Putin is dependent on the war to stay in power. The Russian economy is dependent on arms production. Who thinks Russia will negotiate an end to the war in a situation like this? Right now Putin has zero reasons to end the war.

Almost everywhere you look - soil, oceans, forests, stoves, other tech - the carbon credits market is fatally compromised by junk science, over-claiming and imperatives of profit. The "market" (a term used as code for financialisation and economic power) is not going to solve our existential crisis.

The only real question in the U.S. right now is: fascism — yes or no. About a third of the country feels like a hard “yes.” (Scroll through X-Twitter and it seems like even more.) But is there a large enough share of the other two thirds to push this autocratic nightmare back before it’s too late?

I watched the last episode of Andor on Tuesday, and I will always think of Dedra Meero finally meeting her well-deserved fate whenever I see this ghoulish creature Noem. I hope she finds herself in a similar situation someday (you ought to watch the series, which has a satisfying conclusion).

When Musk purchased the presidency, this must've been part of the deal: using the power of the US government to further enrich himself. We've seen it already with his SpaceX and defense contracts. Now this.

THREAD: We recently heard that the Trump administration was leaning on the government of Gambia to help Elon Musk. For weeks, our team made phone calls, wrote letters and knocked on folks’ doors to try to confirm it. But we were stuck. So our reporters got on a plane to Banjul. 1/

It takes just minutes to read, but I promise it will blow your mind. The Trump-Qatar Scandal is about so much more than a damn plane—and Trump knows it. Even many in major media know it. I cannot explain to you, as a bestselling Trump biographer, why so many in D.C. are hiding what all of us know.

The plan to defund Planned Parenthood would cost taxpayers $300 million over the next decade, according to a leaked preliminary estimate compiled by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO).

Of course they are. If folks had listened to me 10 years ago, this wouldn't be a breaking headline today. Russia's puppeteering of neo-Nazis has been going on since at least the 70s. "Is Russia co-opting US far-right groups to attack western democracies?" www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Buttigieg: I’m not even an elected official or running for anything— I’m here. I can’t help but notice a lot of people who are elected officials aren’t. There’s a reason for that. They don’t want to have to explain this stuff

When you see how enraged the press is by the prospect of a woman using home email at work or an old man getting older, you realize what they could do when most corrupt human alive tries to end democracy in 100 days.

Republicans are saying that these cuts will be reinvested into Medicaid for people who "deserve" it. If that were true, the budget would stay the same. But that's not what's happening. Why? Because down the hall, they are trying to finance tax breaks for billionaires.

One day, that could be a carload of ICE agents outside the wrong person's house, and then we'll suddenly start hearing Republicans talk about the need for gun control. 🤷‍♀️

I welcome the agreement on our 17th sanctions package against Russia. We are further restricting access to battlefield technology. And we have listed an additional 189 shadow fleet vessels to target Russia's energy exports. This war has to end. We will keep the pressure high on the Kremlin.

Nobel Prize winning science.

I credit the Moderna vaccines for keeping me COVID-free. I'll go to Canada if necessary to get this vaccine.

If Elon Musk continues to dominate the space-based internet, he could end up with more power over information than anyone in history, writes Ross Andersen:

Horsford: They are cutting healthcare for 13.7 million Americans. The largest cut to healthcare in U.S. history to give tax cuts to billionaires and to big corporations. This is your priority.
