Took advantage of free rides on Metrolink if you had a bike!

Finally finished reading Alaska, by James Michener! A tale of epic proportions like all of Micheners work, but I particularly love many of the natural settings in this one. His stories always get me eager to learn some actual history!

Taking the train from Los Angeles to the Grand Canyon! #train #transit #publictransit #travel #travelbytrain

I think this transit map in Pasadena needs to be updated...

In the latest example of how car owners' windshield perspective distorts their reality, a self-styled Lower Manhattan business group is claiming that congestion pricing is already a complete “disaster.” This couldn't be further from the truth. buff.ly/9UPLPHp

Riding the bus means bringing a book. Can't say the same for driving!

Another L.A. street project that appears to triggers Measure HLA improvements: Hyperion Avenue speed tables that include a striping reconfiguration making the already bike-unfriendly street even more deadly for cyclists la.streetsblog.org/2025/02/26/h...

Finally! This intersection in Austin was particularly annoying to travel through whether on bike, foot, or car. www.speakupaustin.org/e65606

Ghost busses are the absolute worst. Especially at night.

Every bus agency should strive to have seats as comfortable as Foothill Transit. #foothilltransit #bus #transit

Space reclaimed from a couple of parking spots to make an intersection safer, add bike parking, a rest area, and a counter flow bike lane. Beautiful!

I decided to take the train for a business trip while my coworkers each drove separately. I would much rather get to relax read, and watch a beautiful sunset than be stuck in traffic. Always check if the train is a possibility for your next trip!

Traveling by train has its perks!

Berlin U-bahn. A beautiful system in a beautiful city!

Policymakers in Los Angeles have been using "crisis" rhetoric on housing for decades, with little to show for it. In the aftermath of the fires, what can we learn about rebuilding from other cities? I provide comment in another great @emmbadger.bsky.social piece. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/24/u...

Wild that at some point in recent history we sat down and said “let’s make this illegal to build everywhere in Massachusetts.”

Parking protected bike lanes are cheaper than concrete and at a minimum just require paint, but so many jurisdictions just refuse to use them. Why?

Delayed train? Just an opportunity to explore! During a recent trip, our train was delayed by a couple of hours. If this were a flight, we'd be stuck in the airport, but because it's a train, it just meant that we got to explore Flagstaff for a couple hours!

Los Angeles history lives on at the Southern California Railway Museum

Taking transit or biking to work has made such a difference in my attitude around my commute. Just give it a try and see if it's possible!

I love headways like this! #metrolosangeles #losangelesmetro

Embracing the 15-Minute City: 7 Reasons why Bicycles Are the Perfect Mode of Transportation - By @momentummag.bsky.social - momentummag.com/embracing-th...

Hoping for another Arroyofest type event in the future! Bikes and pedestrians taking over a freeway sparks joy.

I still can't get over how awesome it was that LA Metro saw so much ridership for the Dodger's parade!
