Can’t believe my organizational philosophy of just putting stuff wherever and hoping I will find it when I need it has betrayed me, again. Unbelievable

All those ‘journalists’, political commentators and pundits; justify this. With all the media choice at his feet, why did Starmer only take the most racist, bigoted, conspiracy driven ‘news’ channel with him?

So Labour binned Rwanda, but not the concept of Rwanda? That's hardly reformed thinking. It is, however, Reform thinking. Labour: Finding new ways to disappoint the electorate daily since July 2024. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...

When Reform MP Pochin started running her mouth, it quickly became clear Reform UK’s just a loud bunch with no clue what they’re actually doing. #ukpoliticels

To all those accusing me (again 🙄) of being a NIMBY: Given that the government's own analysis shows environmental protection doesn't impede housebuilding, kindly explain how trashing wildlife and habitats will take us any closer to getting the homes we need? www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Keir Starmer forced his MPs to postpone the #CANBill debate until 11th July. Insiders say Government plans to conveniently find something else to discuss on 11th. This is totally unacceptable. What could be more important? Please help—details below👇

Labours attitude to green policy is just one of spite now isn't it?

I find that catchy slogans really help to get our message across.

I cycled across London to an event this morning, and the many cycle superhighways were all delightfully full of cyclists whizzing (at various speeds, but all faster than the cars) past the car traffic. Londoners clearly want to cycle and it works... more cycle infrastructure, please!

Kenmure Street, Glasgow. Four years ago. Ordinary people stopped what they were doing to protect their neighbours. No strangers. Happy Kenmure Street Day ✊

Yvette Cooper repeatedly refused to give a straight answer just now on Today to straight Q “Will councils get more money to pay care workers more?” She repeatedly committed to higher carer pay but wouldn’t commit to money so councils can fund it. Think that speaks volumes about the mess we are in.

After due consideration, having weighed up the relevant evidence, assessed the balance of arguments and gamed the likely implications, I have reached the conclusion that Keir Starmer can fuck off from a great height.

1. This is Piles Copse, the largest remaining fragment of high-ground temperate rainforest on Dartmoor. It’s a tiny speck of green in a dismal, human-made desert. Prepare yourselves for a story of breathtaking perversity, told in this thread. (There’s a one-page version at the bottom). 🧵

‘Disposable’ simply means cheap and shit enough that you don’t give a fuck about dumping or leaving it. Don’t sell, buy or use these fucking things

WTAF!!?? Is she drunk? My partners mother is in a care home. 99% of the staff are from overseas. And do a fantastic job that no-one else wants to do. It would/will close down without them. More half-baked insanity from Labour.

“I’ve heard that No 10 and Angela Rayner are worried of doing anything that’s deemed woke, and nature is in that bracket." Terrific piece by @patrickbarkham.bsky.social on @hannahbournetaylor.bsky.social 's campaign for swifts and political cowardice. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

When Zack Polanski pointed out that we won't see another left wing Labour leader because of the influx of right-wing Labour MPs it's worth remembering that Starmer has doubled the nominations threshold for candidates as well. @zackpolanski.bsky.social labourlist.org/2021/09/labo...

Reports that Labour may scrap the Digital Services Tax to secure a trade deal with Trump are deeply concerning. I’m urging the govt to guarantee MPs get a vote on any such deal. MPs must have a say in decisions that affect our digital economy and ability to tax corporate giants.

Hard to believe how lame some of this stuff is. I'm not sure it's even AI's fault for once... Did Starmer purge everyone with a sense of humour as well of all of the lefties?

We are starting to see some of these folks arrive in college, and they are failing classes that prohibit AI (and yes, we can do that effectively — It is called hand-written exams). Our job as teachers is to teach, not take the easy road and pass those who aren’t learning.

EveryDoctor found that more than £300,000 in donations to MPs came from companies already making money from providing services to the NHS. Pigs in troughs… the bloody lot of them!! goodlawproject.org/health-secre...

FUN FACT: Since 2019, Nigel Farage's Reform has taken more than £2.3 MILLION from oil and gas interests - making up an astonishing 92% of the party's donations. Reform are NOT for ordinary people. They're in the pockets of the big oil lobby.

Or to put it another way, overseas students now subsidise the cost of teaching each UK undergraduate by an average of £2,500 each. Take them away and you've got an absolutely existential crisis for universities. www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/politics/pol...

The not quite as polite way of saying what Sarah said … Why ❓

Happy Tuesday! How about an anti-Matt-Yglesias climate economics thread? I'll start by saying "material prosperity" is not opposed to "reasoning backwards" from temperature targets — doing what we must NOW to halt global heating at a safe level will INCREASE Americans' material prosperity. 1/n

Why do we have company law in the UK when no one enforces it? Right now, companies can break the law with near total impunity — and society pays the price. By @richardjmurphy.bsky.social

No more talk of "maxing out the credit card." We can - and must - spend to invest. The 1% must also pay their fair share. Backzack.com (Footage from @novaramedia.com live stream)

Pathetic. Labour are just going to write policy for Reform voters going forward. The idea that even voting for unbelievably minor but necessary changes like this could lose MPs the whip beggars belief.

The vast fire on #Dartmoor should alert us to the ecological disaster there. This should not be a fire-prone landscape. Were it not for the elimination of trees by grazing, the vegetation type on the high moor would be temperate rainforest, which is extremely hard to burn. But only specks remain.

We urgently need a company law regulator. A body tasked with standing up for people, employees, taxpayers, & the environment — not just the rich & powerful. A party for this would win huge support, & £6 bn in tax revenue. Prof Richard Murphy reports

“The Government does not appear to think it necessary to offer meaningful reassurance to [the experts sounding the alarm]. But gaslighting the public? And pretending that legitimate concerns are “misleading”? That’s shameful.”—Ben Kite (@cieem.bsky.social strategic policy panel chair) #PausePartIII
