Episcopalian, socialist, dad. I like trains, bicycles, video games, and sharing. In a former life I did sound design for video games, but now I have a dumb email job with health insurance. Don't tell my boss when you see that I'm not working. Living in WA

I know the world is garbage right now. I hate it. But I'm making this little video game about demons, and as part of that I've been reading various historical texts and stuff I probably never would have otherwise. And I just discovered a gem that I want to share:

My goodness- California's Senator Alex Padilla just went to ask Kristi Noem questions in person at her photo op / press conference in LA and she had her security forcibly throw him out of the room. Video here:

David Graeber said this in 2012 about protests in New York City. Though this is increasingly what is happening this week in Los Angeles. davidgraeber.org/articles/con...

Signs of a healthy bike network: Kindergartners can ride their own bikes to destinations.

Treasure are so fuckin cool. They'll just directly scale up enemies like it's no big deal, and make it work I wish I had the balls

like being a prepper, but instead of stockpiling canned foods and ammunition, i'm performing all the Google searches I think I'll need for the next several years and archiving the data before search engines completely collapse

This is the most exquisitely AMV-you-found-on-Napster game trailer that has ever trailered This does not feel even remotely real www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ot6j...

I'm working on a video game project involving demons, like the weird little dudes from a Christian understanding of Hell. I've been asking people around me what they think of demons, and I'm learning that basically everyone has weird ideas (myself included)! What's your take on demons?

There's nothing holy about writing discrimination into the law.

Can't wait to retire in 30+ years so that I once again have enough free time to play JRPGs.

Every now and again I reflect on our Charlotte's Web GBA game we produced at Backbone. It was an action platform game that had Wilbur leaping around on platforms. We referred to it internally as "Pig of Persia," in honor of Prince of Persia, the game we absurdly based it on.

BREAKING: The Episcopal Church has announced it will end its decades-old partnership with the government to resettle refugees, citing moral opposition to resettling white Afrikaners from South Africa who have been classified as refugees by the Trump admin. religionnews.com/2025/05/12/e...

Been looking at and saving the stories I'm most proud of after being laid off, just in case. I'm scared for the future but reminding myself that I did all this work, not Polygon. I hope I can keep doing it. I'd like to share some, starting big: www.polygon.com/23485977/vid...

BREAKING: Police just surrounded Rev. William Barber, prominent activist and pastor, as he and others prayed in the U.S. Capitol Rontunda. Police then expelled everyone (including press!) from the Rotunda to (presumably) arrest them. I've covered protests here a lot. Never seen anything like it.
