"Where are the protests now?" OMG, shut up. Like they aren't going to drag anyone black protesting away and jam them up in a for-profit prison system to make up for the (meagerly) paid labor they're losing. Like we haven't seen Ferguson protestors die off one-by-one. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

This @melissagiragrant.com piece takes on social media narratives about protesting ('why aren't people in the streets?'), and highlights the fact that many communities have BEEN protesting, never STOPPED protesting, are ALWAYS fighting for their lives.

I heard from quite a few federal employees as the OPM deferred resignation offer deadline hits. It's probably illegal, probably won't work, and is still not really clear in its mechanics anyway. Very, very few of them are even considering it. "Most of us see right through this."

I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

"The reality is that the violence against Palestinians has not stopped, and we must not deceive ourselves into thinking that our ethical obligations in relation to it have ended." aljazeera.com/opinions/202...

I used the word riot and became a villain today. I hope I made Marsha proud, I didn't even have to throw a brick. A black woman's anger is more powerful than anything.

Being a biracial American sucks. Being not white or not black enough, outcast by both sides for not conforming the way they expect you too, having cptsd from all the microgressions, from the confusion of where I fit, who is safe, what am I....

Until someone can amplify and empower zillennial voices and give them hope, there is no one to fight long term. As a generation I truly believe we are done dealing with the cards we've been dealt and would rather lay down than fight because we've never been allowed to breathe.

With war on both a civil and global scale so close, very few care to sacrifice themselves for any cause.... We are young, sick, tired, and burnout. That's what everyone seems to not understand, young adults don't care to fight anymore, our voices have been muted since the beginning

And now we have to fight? Are you kidding, they took everything from us, we didn't even get to graduate college, or start careers and now we have to watch wwIII unfold, lose what little rights we did have, and watch as our government becomes the laughing stock of the world again.

What many don't understand is that all the 20 somethings are tired. Most of us have not fully recovered from covid still, a lot of us are disabled or mentally unwell from the pandemic still... A lot of us can't keep or obtain jobs or housing, we have never had a chance to "function" as young adults.

Why is no one organizing, you are waiting too long, you are missing the window 😔

The Pentagon is setting the stage for state run propaganda… 🚨 NYT, NBC, NPR, and Politico evicted from Pentagon press offices in favor of Trump-friendly outlets like Breitbart, One America News & NY Post.

“Many of those interviewed broke down in tears as they described the rapid destruction of decades of work. The programs that have frozen or folded over the past six days supported frontline care for infectious disease, providing treatments and preventive measures that help avert millions of deaths”

Corporate leaders who were fine with Trump sadistically imposing mass suffering on vulnerable groups as long as they got their tax cuts deserve every last bit of what this madman is now unleashing on them with these tariffs. Assholes.

Canadians booing the U.S. national anthem isn’t something I ever thought I’d see, but this is what happens when you let a psychopath criminal with isolationist and protectionist policies back into the White House.

Years and maybe decades after the fact, we'll still be uncovering shady shit Musk's people are doing right now

So much winning.

ALL OF THE ABOVE

The USA has had two major plane crashes in the last 4 days. The USA had previously not suffered a major plane crash for 16 years. ‘DEI’ programs have existed for decades. So what was it that changed in the last 14 days or so to suddenly cause so many crashes?

Black American history feels more important this month. Remembering all the ways in which past & present black defenders of this democracy put their blood & tears into our nation holds more purpose today than only informative. Black history helps us remember *why* America is great.

NY Times, Feb. 11, 1933.

I think people truly don't understand just how much our lives are about to change forever.

Did you know? In 1968, 24 Black men in Pittsburgh revolutionized emergency medicine. The Freedom House Ambulance Service was established to provide emergency medical care to underserved Black neighborhoods—creating the world’s first paramedics.

Every word of this.

One of the lessons of the mid-late last century is that consistent systems will beat smart people every day of the week.

Another extremely effective and impactful program preparing the next generation for scientific careers is undermined, to the detriment of the students and America’s future. “All of the students who became involved with H2O last fall continued into the spring semester and remained STEM majors.”

🏆 Governor Pritzker- Illinois - has signed an order prohibiting all J6 rioters from state employment.

My first and definitely last time working with the Los Angeles Times. Editing out the most urgent point of an OpEd in the minutes before sending to press while then also assigning a title and image that suggest an argument entirely opposite to the author’s clear intent is pretty shitty.

How quickly they forget his failures.

DEI public favorability continues to be +19. Pundits are wrong that: 1) DEI is unpopular. It's popular. 2) This recent support is thermostatic. This is NOT thermostatic. DEI favorability has been high throughout its existence (second pic).

Literally happening as we speak

It is never a good time to bow down to a tyrant. “Don’t give into the lies” Jim Acosta departs CNN

Cutting off grants to academia, pausing clinical trials, etc., is key to this administration’s plan to kill higher education. Targeting intellectuals is textbook fascism.

My plan is to survive
