"The bill directs what is likely the largest single sale of national public lands in modern history..." www.wilderness.org/articles/med...

@altnps.bsky.social Oops I think someone’s on to you.

The Alt National Park Service account calls itself the official "resistance" team of the US National Park Service. With 887k followers, is one of the biggest accounts on Bluesky. It is the 11 most followed account according to some trackers. This thread will dive into its activity. 🧵 1/x.

This Admin is gutting our public lands & the National Park Service: 🚫 $1B in proposed budget cuts 🏞️ 350+ parks at risk of closure 📚 History censored at key sites 🧪 Expert staff pulled from critical roles due to understaffing Public lands don’t need kings. They need funding and protection.

The Antiquities Act gives the president power to CREATE national monuments. Not ERASE them. That is illegal. Sign your name at npca.org/protectmonuments

So it begins. Discussions are underway within the administration, and Pentagon, about deploying National Guard or active-duty troops to cities beyond Los Angeles. We’ll be sending updated guidance to all coalition members. Please follow every step, even if some sections seem irrelevant right now.

SATURDAY! National monuments are under threat. Join or plan a rally at your nearest monument to support them! Or, join online by signing the petition and using the call script. Let’s stand together and stand up for public lands 💪

Manongs - the first wave of Filipino immigrants to America - worked under harsh labor conditions. But the combined leadership of their unions striking alongside César Chávez changed those conditions for future generations. #AAPIheritagemonth

New signs at parks could have a chilling effect on rangers just trying to do their jobs and tell the truth. This new order sets a dangerous precedent of prioritizing nostalgia over truth.

This Administration’s 2026 budget isn’t just a rollback, it’s a plan to dismantle the National Park Service and erase vital pieces of our history. Watch the video to learn more and speak up before it’s too late: www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_LE...

MORE GOOD NEWS (in a bad budget)! Thanks to your calls and pressure, the House budget bill *no longer includes* the sale of public lands. A lot of other problematic stuff, yeah--but hundreds of thousands of acres are (for now) slated to stay public! When we get loud, we can make a difference 💪

The Bureau of Land Management issues leases for oil and gas exploration and development, and the proximity to national parks means that many have direct adverse environmental impacts. Want to be a park advocacy pro? Check out our advocacy crash course: www.npca.org/campaigns/na...

GOOD NEWS - A federal judge has indefinitely paused President Trump's sweeping overhaul of the federal government.

The House is voting this week on Trump's budget proposal--which means, they're voting on whether or not it's okay to sell off public lands. We need to get loud and tell them we won't let them.

Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum is doing a tour of public lands....while actively gutting them and planning to fire their staff. Did he really think he could get away with that? Yikes. Some parks fans at Olympic didn't let him get off easy! ⬇️⬇️

As current national policy pushes for more domestic mining of strategic minerals, our national parks may face a surge in mining activity. peer.org/over-one-th...

The hits keep coming, y’all. In a new move in their continued dismantling of the National Park Service, the Trump administration, hundreds of employees were removed from their position as rangers. Employees were told Friday afternoon they were being “consolidated” to the Department of the Interior.
