“[W]e’re also seeing…the favoring not of Christians per se, but of a CERTAiN KIND of Christianity. Trump & his people are aiming not to just work w/ the movement, but to shape the movement itself, to make it more faux-populist, demagogic & frankly authoritarian.” - @katherinestewart.bsky.social 1/

Walter Benjamin writing about fascism in 1936 "Fascism attempts to organize the newly proletarianized masses without affecting the property structure which the masses strive to eliminate. Fascism sees its salvation in giving these masses not their right, but instead a chance to express themselves."

Meta doesn't want you to know about Sarah Wynn-Williams book Careless People. So much so they got the courts involved so she can't promote herself. Would be a shame if a bunch of people not tied up in court promoted it for her…

This is going to kill many public libraries, especially in rural areas. If you use a public library, you will be impacted. #imls is a dust mote in the federal budget. It also provides things like internet at your local library so people can apply for jobs and kids can do homework.

The idea being that it's easier to control people who do not have access to knowledge, which is why universities/schools, museums, and libraries are facing some of the first waves of attack. First you cut off access to knowledge. Then you replace with highly controlled and revised knowledge.

whether they’re retiring or not this should be the last term for each of them

Renowned Palestinian artist Laila Shawa (1940–2022) is known for her use of bold colours and illustrative designs to tackle structural violence, political turmoil, the plight of children and resistance. Her art illustrates the beauty and harshness of life for Palestinians living in Gaza.

Senate Democratic leadership essentially played dead today and greenlit the Trump-Musk-Vance coup. What is the point of the Democratic Party if it doesn't actually act like an opposition party? Hello?

It is one thing to watch a dictator grab power. It is another to hand it to him. I’m headed to the Senate floor now. To cast an emphatic “no.”

These are the senators who collaborated with the GOP. Schumer Fetterman Cortez Masto Durbin King Shaheen Gillibrand Schatz Hassan Peters Don’t let them forget it. No peace for them.

This attachment to a fixed self generates suffering, for it is the basis of our fears, desires, and conflicts. As long as we see ourselves as separate, we are bound by the duality of subject and object, self and other, inside and outside. Night night everyone.

RFK often talks about how Americans have worse life expectancies than European countries like France & Italy. He often leaves out the fact that those countries have universal healthcare, free college and federally mandated PTO for every working person. It's not just our food, buddy.

As a half-blind person, alt-text is especially helpful to be able to read people’s screenshot text images when the thing is in small print. As an artist, I’d rather share & see the work of people able to describe their stuff visually. #NEISvoid #disability 😑

Not only is borrowing books from the library something you can do, it's something you *should* do. Supporting libraries is good for authors *and* it's good for libraries. Go get a card, walk inside, take out some books, read the books, books are great, libraries are great, life is amazing.
