Now that the stickies are drying out, I LOVE my black cottonwood/western balsam poplar trees again. As they leaf out, they make my deck a green tent/Fortress of Solitude. Tonight, swallows (violet-green and tree) are swooping, ravens and a yellow-rumped warbler are calling. Beautiful.

Want to smile? Here you go! A skateboard-riding corg! This helps me understand why I was a bad boarder middle-schooler. My centre of gravity was/is relatively high and I lack extreme density. Love that it CAN control the board, chooses the steps over the smooth drop and makes people move.

Ugh. Anyone who has a brain/has done any work with FN KNOWS that quick turn-around is a) an inappropriate/offensive ask due to their very real need to actually CONSULT with community, nevermind that many FN also struggle with capacity issues for reasons that are Canada's fault.

Truly horrifying, this summer, in most of Canada. Hoping good weather (rain, low winds, cooler temps.) come for Man. Sask. and N. ON. We just got our first few days of summer "heat". Hope we get a cool/rainy summer, actually. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/... Link to a CBC story about fires in Sask.
