Just arrived in Antwerp and delighted to say it honks of waffles. On brand so far Belgium.

The dreadful, unjustifiable cruelty of a hollowed out man. Netenyahu is a monster.

I always read about deradicalisation showing up in the form of human connection. Much in the same way any addiction seems to be broken. We need to be treating this issue like what it is, a public health issue. People are addicted to this stuff and don’t see the harm it does without intervention.

UP THE PALACE!

Hugely blessed image

With the strap on his ear harness undone Mateta looks like a World War 2 flying ace.

‘I saw you across the harbour & wondered if you’d be interested in some of my new fish fingers’

Once again, I was content with Starmer a year ago as I thought he would provide boring managerialism with a competent approach to strategy. Instead he's blown his toes off and opened the door to the Far Right. Wanker.

Read this right to the end. It is majestic.

🚨🌱 The Chancellor is reviewing all public spending from scratch. Please join me in signing the @campaignforthearts.org petition to remind the UK Govt: the arts make our lives happier & our communities stronger. Now is the moment to invest in them. www.campaignforthearts.org/petitions/sp...

Take 5 minutes to read this and glory in a genius. Happy birthday Eric Morecambe! Here's to the genius of silly people being funny in the same goddamn room as hundreds of other people. What it's all about.

A day before my 42nd birthday, my son just turned to me out of the blue and asked "Daddy, what was it like back in the 20th century?" So I'll be filling my pockets with stones and walking into the sea.

How nice to be told by Keir Starmer that my mother who delivered babies, as a midwife, worked nights and damaged her back lifting patients as a nurse, was a pillar of her community as a health visitor has caused “incalculable damage” to the UK !

Reform has narratives, not policies. When will other parties fucking learn that the way to beat them is by offering counter-narratives, not turning these ones into policies that are cruel, beneficial to nobody, + mightily hypocritical of UK which has treated the rest of the world like a holiday home

I have Egyptian, Australian, Polish, South African, Canadian, Norwegian, Iranian, Irish and British born neighbours, and we can barely get down the road without having a good old natter. If that's a Land of Strangers then bring it on.

Have the Labour Party forgotten who their bad guys are meant to be? They’ve had to borrow scapegoats from the right (trans people, the arts sector, dreadful foreigns). GUYS! The Undeserving Sociopath Rich are RIGHT FUCKING THERE. And the advantage with them is it’s all actually their fault.

Totally this. Plenty of writers, artists, scientists, historians, restaurants, teachers, doctors and more talking with clarity and passion about the benefits of immigration. Not nearly enough frontline politicians. Shame.

In the spirit of @stephenkb.bsky.social ‘s image of public opinion on immigration as “I want a pony in my flat with no costs attached” public opinion on social care seems to be “I want a magical care machine that costs nothing”

I remember when Johnson stood to be Tory leader and it was immediately apparent that the national pysche couldn't shift the thought "let's make Boris PM. What a good idea." Even though it was so screamingly obvious how terrible it would be. I fear we've got the same issue again with Farage.

Imagine how miserable it must be to experience the world without wonder and delight. Everyone in power right now: no curiosity, no kindness — just power and “prestige” and profit. So pathetic. Dangerous and destructively consequential, of course, but also tragic. Protect the weird and wonderful.

I remember an announcer on Channel 4 once saying “if you tuned in on purpose I admire your taste; if you tuned in by accident I admire your luck. Either way enjoy Andrei Tarkovsky’s Stalker@

Most celebrities: can't be damned to even talk about defending trans people David Tennant: turns a question that doesn't mention trans folks once into a clear, decisive message of support and explaining the true machine behind our current oppression

"Masked security forces captured an opposition leader in the coastal province of New Jersey as regime officials continue their months-long crack-down against pro-democracy elements in the embattled United States. The arrest comes as the regime issued calls for summary detentions without trial."

Pope Leo XIV has a degree in mathematics from Villanova university. To get where he is he has had to demonstrate a sound knowledge of original sin, but he will be the first pope to completely grasp original cos and original tan.

Early exit polls suggest the new pope did particularly well with male voters aged 45-79.

you know who else came from chicago and was on "a mission from god"

A Pope from Chicago? Must be a wise guy.

At least we can smile knowing JD converted to Catholicism only to be PERSONALLY disliked by not one but TWO popes

Very much this. Badenoch is a useless, hateful husk of a person, but she's not a traitor. Farage is and should be a addressed as such by his opponents. Loudly and often.

[if Chuck Schumer replaced Liam Neeson in Taken] CHUCK SCHUMER: [on phone] I don’t know who you are or what you want, but I will find you and I will help you kill my daughter

TRENT REZNOR: and you could have it all, my empire of dirt GARDENERS: oh fuck yes
