Saturdays are for writing to your MP - so write them and ask them to attend the Ban Grouse shooting debate Monday 30th 16:30pm at Westminster Hall...

Gotta trust the Telegraph and the Daily Mail. Oh wait - don't! #wildlife #environment

Your reminder to please, please report dead badgers to the Badger Trust www.badgertrust.org.uk/report and your local police force's wildlife crime unit. The police will come and send it for testing. It is really important to help these beautiful animals...don't not say anything.

Wildlife is everywhere, even if you can’t see it, there are other signs 👀 Seán Ronayne is passionate about bird song and has a project to record the sound of every bird species in Ireland. 🎧🔊 Next time you’re out and about, stop and have a listen… 🎶🐦🎵 #Springwatch #Springwatch20 #Springwatch2025

The best way to start the day ☀ with some corncrakes! Sean McCormack joins his dad in the hope of hearing this rare bird. #Springwatch #Springwatch20 #Springwatch2025 #BBCSpringwatch #spring #birds #corncrake #nature #wildlife #birding #birdwatching

There must be more ‘Watchers’ on here so lets build the community by reposting & following, give our presenters & contributors some love, & celebrate 20Yrs of #Springwatch together 💚🥳 How big can our flock grow by end of this season? #BBCSpringwatch #Springwatch2025 #Springwatch20 #wildlife #nature

Too many hares being shot ALL year round. These beautiful mammals.

Something a bit different for today's #foxoftheday . Watch some newts , accompanied by a drinking fox's tongue , shared by @urbanponds101 ! Top work !

I asked my MP, Lee Barron, to at least pop in to this debate on grouse shooting in Westminster Hall on 30 June and got a very positive response very quickly. Blog: markavery.info/2025/05/28/a... #grouse #burning #shooting #Corby #petition #parliament #debate

The latest Waterbirds in the UK report shows a 26% decline in Golden Plover numbers over the last 25 years. 📉 To find out more about this species and trends, go to page 22 on the report. ⬇️ @btobirds.bsky.social @jncc.bsky.social @rspbscience.bsky.social @naturescot.bsky.social #Ornithology

Very sad to hear that my good friend Alan Yentob has died. He was such excellent company, and a wonderful interviewer and documentary-maker. I shall miss him greatly.

Contact your MP, express your concerns, ask for a meeting, try the House of Lords, homesforeveryone.org can help with some of this #planninginfrastructurebill

Watching the Homes for everyone and Nature Too panel at Hay Festival thinking about how we use/abuse parks too - parks are important urban wildlife habitats - Labour gov abusing the countryside, Lab council abusing the parks. We are going to have to start some serious protesting. @lambeth_council

Homes for everyone and nature too at the Hay Festival. Tune in for free, it's brilliant and eye opening stuff... we need these folk advising policy...https://www.youtube.com/live/BxA_LoaDG44 @hayfestival.bsky.social

True story - council out to cut away two feet of verge from hedgerows in the village and then use a blower to blow the hay away... just where there are hedgehogs, weasels & nearby nesting birds. WHAT is the point, WHAT has been achieved? Why not leave the grass for badgers to line their setts with?

after a drop out, we are looking for another school!

Ironic that my temporary tattoo of an owl starts rubbing off just as I find a dead Barn Owl on the roof of a gas installation box...🙁

A slightly rain-soaked #foxoftheday today , shared by @vickyoutenphoto , thank you Vicky !

Lambeth Council lost👏 #brockwellpark

Such amazing news for badgers, one step closer @wildjustice.bsky.social 🦡🦡

This is very worth doing - burning on the moors is just plain bad for many, many reasons - go here and Wild Justice can help you navigate this form. It is also just plain interesting and a learning experience... wildjustice.org.uk/general/plea...

The hardest and greatest lesson, is that you are your own light. It does not mean, that at times, you can't bask in the light of others. You can draw strength from doing that. But ultimately, you must return to your own light. Be your own light.

If you've been watching inside our ADHD minds and need some more support or resources, do check out the @openuniversity.bsky.social connect interactive I authored to support the series. connect.open.ac.uk/health-wellb...

Inside our ADHD Minds is so important for obvious reasons, & because it talks so openly about ADHD & other neurodivergences becoming heightened during the peri-menopause/menopause - it has to be a revelation to so many. Had suicide ideation for so, so long, but I can begin to understand myself now

Yes, I can review my friend's show(it IS good) yes I can write a gallery brochure for another's friend's work, yes I can write about how we use parks in our cities is changing for XR, yes at the SAME TIME as all of the above, I can also write the ACE application, make a video, project manage...

This team! No, I don't mean football, I mean the brill people at outside it is beautiful ❤️www.oiib.org.uk

City parks are not just public spaces, they are unique wildlife places… I think councils and communities forget this sometimes

🎉 Green WIN! 🎉 🌹 to 💚 💚 Congratulations to Paul Valentine of @lambethgreenparty.bsky.social on being elected in Herne Hill & Loughborough Junction!

Well the Labour door knockers poohed poohed my explanation as to why I was voting Green...they didn't think BP mattered, and they poohed poohed my arguments and batted them away with generalisations and slogans..."Labour is green", "Lambeth is green" - well, it is now...

"What I want to say is" - is this now a discourse marker? The mental pause / bookending of statements in this way to the public signals a lack of clarity. I am sure there is more to it than this, but I wish this trend would go away. Don't say "What I want to say is" because you are already...

I wish we lived in a world where we did not need brilliant organisations such as Raptor Persecution UK and Wild Justice, but we don't - but I also dig the early morning ritual of their newsletters and blogs pinging onto my phone...if WJ appears at 6am ish, I know that RP is usually in hot pursuit 🙂

If you see a dead badger in suspicious circumstances, please report it to your local police & the badger trust. Leave it too late and the badger will be too decomposed to find out what happened..suspicious is dead on the path, dead in the sett/numbers of dead badgers etc..please guys...#badgers

some of my day spent helping police locate dead badgers in their setts, which is quite sad, so the unexpected sight of an osprey when I went out jogging was really special... very happy about that...

⚠️ Please report all sightings of dead birds for possible testing for Avian Influenza. #UKBirding 📌In England, Wales & Scotland: www.gov.uk/guidance/rep... 📌In Northern Ireland: www.daera-ni.gov.uk/services/dae... 📌In Republic of Ireland: aviancheck.apps.services.agriculture.gov.ie/report

this is a bit like me and my mum- our text messages consist of about 90% bird sightings and nothing excites us more than spotting a BO. Quite often I will get this as a text - "BO at Keldhome on the way to York". Or "BO in the field this morning." Love it www.theguardian.com/environment/...
