Kristi Noem: Sen. Padilla Had Even Deadlier Opinion That Failed To Go Off

Kristi Noem Appears With Bandage Over Ear Struck By Words

This album just may have given us the perfect summer anthem.

I encourage everyone to consider attending one of the many demonstrations planned for tomorrow across the country. Show up. Demand accountability. Peacefully protest. Find the rally closest to you: NoKings.org

every time i watch it again i'm amazed at just how quickly Dr. Strangelove gets going at full stride. they send out Attack Plan R within like first few minutes. keeps up a crazy pace for a movie that's almost entirely composed of guys sitting down having conversations

Your silence most offends me

Gov. Lee rejected $75M from the feds that could have fed 700,000 kids.

We need answers about what happened on Alderaan and assurances from the Empire that it won’t happen again.

here's some new last minute art for you.

Remember in 2014 when the new U2 album was automatically installed in everyone's iTunes and everyone got really annoyed? Imagine if they'd installed it on every other programme you ever used. And it also somehow meant Bono could interrupt what you were doing and take over That's modern AI, that is

My team and I at the Crowd Counting Consortium (@[email protected], Soha Hammam, & Chris Shay) have a new piece out: wagingnonviolence.org/2025/06/amer.... In it, we show that through May 2025, the size and scale of anti-Trump protests have dwarfed those in 2017. 🧵

Anyone who thinks LA is full of socialists has never taken a meeting at a studio

Trump Wants to Rule as a Dictator. Make Him Do It. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/trump...

Fell behind on Andor, so am catching up. Watched Episode 9 this evening. You know. The wild one where they arrest a Senator after manufacturing a fake crisis that required the military to put down protestors. So unrealistic.

It’s times like these when we are fortunate to have a Secretary of Defense who was chosen because he could do a lot of pushups on TV.

Tragically, the outrageous assault of Sen. Padilla today is becoming normal behavior for a Trump administration which is moving us toward authoritarianism. The American people do not like petty tyrants. We defeated King George in 1776. We will defeat King Donald.

Resign now, Kristi Noem.

“The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear. Remember that.”

What happened to Sen. Padilla is a disgrace. Elected officials are supposed to speak for the people. When the government starts throwing Senators to the ground for doing that, we’ve left democracy behind. You don’t have to wonder what a fascist regime looks like. This is it.

More Americans voted for Senator Alex Padilla than for 48 of the 53 red state GOP U.S. Senators combined.

Padilla: If this is how DHS responds to a senator with a question you can only imagine what they're doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California.

This is exactly what the MPD did to Tyre Nichols before they beat him to death.

Trump's regime has now committed at least 16 of King George III's 27 offenses specified in the Declaration of Independence. Armed occupation of a city/state over its government's supposed ideology: "He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us."

two years ago today I encountered this all-timer of marquee placement at the movie theater:

I told you we’d be back

like others said, lysenkoism is critical history to understand this moment. i don’t say this lightly or speciously—these anti-science movements historically end not just in purges like we’re seeing, but eventually in the mass persecution, imprisonment, and executions of scientists.

I am once again suggesting that perhaps we should simply behave as if we are outraged by bad things and people will agree with us

Today in 1982, an estimated 750,000-1,000,000 people marched through New York City from the United Nations to Central Park to demand a US-Soviet freeze on testing, production, and deployment of new, dangerous, and expensive nuclear weapons—at the time, the largest political protest in US history.

“The sentiment across the board right now is that deploying military force against our own communities isn’t the kind of national security we signed up for,” said Sarah Streyder of the Secure Families Initiative..." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one.

Trump was always going to manufacture a crisis that justified the use of military force against his political opponents because he wants to be a dictator and that’s what dictators do.

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

RIP big dog

Yep. It's true. I've had the other pine version (meant for on-screen) of Rosebud from Citizen Kane since the early 80s. I snuck it in four of my movies. It's clearly in the Klopek's basement in The Burbs. 🤭

Love and mercy is what we need tonight .
