Should Canadians just avoid going to the U.S. entirely right now? Also yes.

Ten places in the Maritimes and East Coast to explore this year: Fundy National Park, NB Yarmouth & the Acadian Shores, NS North Cape Coastal Drive, PEI Percé, QC St. Andrews By The Sea, NB Cape Breton, NS Grand-Pré, NS Kouchibouguac National Park, NB Victoria, PEI Tadoussac, QC

Gee, I wonder who's to blame for voting Doug Ford in again. I think I see a trend, Ontario.

Constantine is, without any doubt, my favourite comic book adaptation, and it's not even close. This look behind the making of the film is fantastic if you're a fan: youtu.be/Y5CVhZmqYJs?...

The cast of Zero Day is stacked, the premise is interesting, but the story is frustrating, slow, and sometimes a bit dumb. Maybe my hopes were too high, but the series fumbles a lot of great talent and storytelling, ending up as a mundane, sluggish drama most of the time.

As a Canadian, this is some top tier bullshit from Google. The pandering can stay in the U.S. It shouldn't be hard for Google to leave Canada out of ridiculous changes like this. It's infuriating.

I'm 15 days cold turkey from the last time that I used TikTok. I miss the creators but I really don't miss the wasted time or the overt censorship.

Take your Buy Canadian plans further! Try and buy not just Canadian made but Canadian owned! There are lots of smaller examples in every province, but one bigger spirit brand seems to be Dillon's. They're owned by Mark Anthony Group, based out of Vancouver.

I'm a certain age, which means that when "Little Bones" by the Tragically Hip comes on, I always have to turn it way up.

Honestly, it shouldn't take tariffs to get people talking about this. A stronger Canadian economy is a stronger, better country for everyone. Buy local, buy independent, but most importantly, buy Canadian.

Today has convinced me to take a break from TikTok. As a creator I don't make money off of it, and today's posturing is disgusting. Meta and Twitter are also gross, but I don't have the luxury of quitting everything.

If you're not following the Orkney Library yet, you're missing out.

In December, OnePlus invited me on a very special cruise to test out the new #OnePlus13, and I took a lot of photos. These are some of my favourites so far, in a lot of challenging lighting conditions. No edits, and no processing. I'll have my full review on January 7 when the new phone launches.

There are a lot of classic Christmas cartoons that I love but one of my absolute favourites is The Pink Panther in: A Pink Christmas. And you can watch it on YouTube: youtu.be/Dt9UPRzRCAY?...

Have you watched 8-Bit Christmas yet? It's a sweet, fun film with a surprising ending. It's a nostalgic, retro movie that you can watch with the whole family, which feels harder to find these days. Also, I have a strong suspicion that Keifer Sutherland has a cameo as an important voice.

I'm going skiing in a couple of weeks and I haven't done it in ages! If you have any recommendations for gear I need, I'd love to hear it. Ski pants, goggles, and a ski mask are on my radar but I'd love to get suggestions for brands and anything else I need.

We had so many photos taken onboard the #DisneyTreasure, that I figured I had to share a few. A big shout out to the amazing photographers on the Treasure, and everything they do to get you loosen up for a fun moment. 📸

Plaza de Coco on the Disney Treasure is an absolutely delightful experience, not just for the music and entertainment, but the delicious, authentic, Mexican food. Expect to be dazzled by this wonderful space, the people, music, culture, and meal. #DisneyTreasure

There were a lot of things that I loved on the Disney Treasure, but the Haunted Mansion Parlor is one of the big highlights. I've been looking forward to it since Disney announced it. I'm still blown away by all the details. #DisneyTreasure

Name a really lesser-known and under-appreciated musical. I'll go first: Anna and the Apocalypse.

Wait, so you can't post vertical videos to Bluesky? That seems weird? I tried to upload one and it cropped it horizontal.

France is a treat for the senses, and if you love exceptional cuisine and wine as much as I do, you will relish Lyon, Starsbourg, Nancy, and Reims. Here are some of the best things about travelling through these incroyable cities. www.thegate.ca/blog/067914/...

If there was a way to track the top words found in my inbox this month, "virtual press conference" would be 10 feet tall at the top of the list.

Bluesky has a great opportunity that needs a solution: feeds are excellent but they're fairly difficult to make for the average user. Right now there are no entertainment, or film, or travel feeds, as far as I can see. I hope there are plans to solve this because they would be a big deal.

My family and I are so excited, counting down the days to the media preview sailing of the Disney Treasure. If you're curious about the new cruise ship, I'll be sharing photos and updates in December.

It's that time of year, so I have to ask: if you celebrate Christmas, when do you put the tree up? 🌲

Happy Friday everyone! I've started following a few folks here but I'm looking for the travel community. If you're a traveler or a travel creator I'd love to connect.

Sunrise over Toronto.

Well, I'm back. What have I missed?

It's like being on top of the world. Schilthorn in Jungfrau region is surrounded by mountain peaks, and it's a view like nowhere else. Here's a little different perspective of the mountain top with my Insta360 X3.

Who else is consistently impressed with the photos they get from their phone? Here are two simple shots that I love, captured with the Pixel 7a.
