Let this be a warning to you all: nobody steals my charts and gets to be Prime Minister of Canada

I didn’t think this story could get any more tragic. But this report, from the remarkable Kim Bolan, just makes everything more heartbreaking. And I hope it will help to quell the conspiracies, along with the craven political exploitation of this horror. It’s just tragedy piled atop tragedy.

We're expecting another update from Vancouver Police later tonight about the tragedy at Lapu Lapu Day. After that, we probably won't know much more for many hours. Given the global attention already on it, a lot of speculation will inevitably happen. The best thing you can do is not amplify it.

My painting TIDAL WETLANDS

This product is so good that you don’t even mind when it leaks all over your refrigerator because it fell on its side and somehow manages to do it every single time you buy it. That’s just the bargain you make with this stern old woman

Why read what people have to say? Wouldn't you rather read autogenerated text from a racist algorithm trained to sow discord via Russian talking points? Oh boy! (Also they have no idea what to do with this 'AI' and it continues to be hilarious.)

i think i speak for most americans when i say i hate anyone who is so stupid that he makes me care about treasury bonds

RIP McBarge 1986-2025 You were too pure for this world

bunch of employees who work at the government facility where they keep ET wet freaking out because they need five things for the email but all they did last week was spray water on ET

Before I quit Twitter, I used my 0 follower burner account to Tweet into the ether. Somehow, those tweets would end up with dozens or even hundreds of views. Pretty sure they were counting how many times I refreshed the time line.

Shame on every "journalist" writing shit like this. Shame.

Every sane person needs to be vehemently against this ever happening which I guess means PBS has some insane people working there.

There is NO LGB without the T.

We are now in a universe where Dougie does the right thing.

Vancouver is the latest to boo the Star-Spangled Banner

There's such a tone of sadness to the CBC reporting right now. Adrienne Arsenault says, “I feel like the whole country, all of us, are getting both a history lesson and a politics lesson and an economics lesson and a lesson in heartache.”

Really good time to be an unemployed Canadian 🙃

Happy #thresholdday! I made this #stainedglass art to commemorate the occasion a couple years ago - it’s still a favorite. #startrek #startrekvoyager

Dying in a mental asylum in 2004 because I went back in time to tell people that The Apprentice would lead to the end of medical research, the Civil Rights Act, and birthright citizenship.

periodically I look around at the state of the internet and the way it is clearly contributing to making the world worse in so many ways, and I think back to dicking around in a computer lab in the early 00s and how full of promise it all felt, and I feel sad it didn't have to be this way

I think 2016 was the last good year for new tech. That was the last time something new excited me.

It's pretty depressing that every media outlet has found a nice way to say "company no longer plans to hire minorities"

Oh boy, I'm really getting into the Christmas spirit and wouldn't it be nice if there was snow in Vancouve- hmm

Longhorn because it’s the bar between Whistler (XP) and Blackcomb (Precursor to 7) mountains. People always seem to be having a nice time at that bar.

I applied to 6 jobs today :))))

2024 has been the biggest year of my life so far. good big and bad big.

Since it's cold and flu season and you may also be traveling tomorrow

I got a dog and lost my job in the last few weeks. Holding it together.

When I was a student, I spent a full day editing my thesis project to match the styles and fonts of the most well regarded academic journal in the field. Despite average content, I scored significantly higher than all my peers. Lesson learned.

I’m back

In other news, can’t get Trip Tucker out of my head.

Just set aside 2 garbage bags of clothes to donate. I have been mentally blocked from doing this for 5 years now. Feeling lighter.

Sitting at home with COVID and trying really hard to be less angry with the world.

I think the best response I've seen to AI anything has been, "Why should I bother reading something that nobody could be bothered to write"
