It turns out that much like a major sporting event or concert, our public transit system was insufficient to support turnout at today's No Kings protests.

I'm every bus rider

So many people are stuck in car traffic on my bus that they're in my replies. A guy much younger than me has literally fallen to his knees from exhaustion.

Harrowing personal story. Hot and sweaty because I'm dressed for 60 degrees and rainy — not standing room only "bus rapid transit" that's stuck in car traffic with my foot falling asleep from bracing against the constant stop and go. 50 minutes in, 40 minutes left to go?

Big crowd waiting for the new B Line at Selby and Western. Bus packed. Doors had a hard time closing.

Much gratitude for the Selby Ave free lemonade stand serving crowds as they exit capitol area protest. Granola bars too. Gentleman on the left is celebrating his birthday today, and says that's a shame. Plus, "It's all from Costco so we know it's good."

People are so into this they're doing a reverse march back to where they parked. I estimate this crowd at a lot of people.

Reports that organizers have shortened the protest program at the capitol are wrong, as measured by how much my back hurts from standing around listening to speeches.

Mr. Rogers inspired protest sign.

A "Fuck ICE" entrepreneur selling his wares.

Despite warnings from the law enforcement not to attend today’s No Kings rally after this mornings shooting of Minnesota lawmakers with the killer on the lose, the No Kings Rally is happening at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul.

Middle school teacher says she has all summer for this shit.

National sources (including AP) are reporting that organizers have canceled No Kings events across the state. This is incorrect, as confirmed by local/state media, and from multiple sources present at protests right now. (1/3) apnews.com/live/trump-m... www.startribune.com/brooklyn-par...

Reports that organizers have cancelled Minnesota "No Kings" protests are wrong.

In the middle of a large, upbeat anti-Trump crowd. Having trouble getting social posts to load. Got word from Josh Martin that Governor Walz is recommending people not attend protests today. Organizers say the March to the capitol is still happening.

Protesters wielding butterfly puns: "the only orange monarch we want."

Gov. Tim Walz confirmed Saturday morning that Hortman and her husband Mark had both been killed in what he called targeted political violence.

B Line opening day festivities cancelled after overnight shootings targeting state legislators. Transit service will continue as scheduled.

B Line opening day. Allegedly 20% faster than the old route 21. We'll see.

Dispatches from an election year: "the only crime they experienced is someone threw cheese on Daniel’s car. A year later, it happened again. They have no idea who the mayor is..." www.startribune.com/the-pulse-of...

as per the MN crime account, there have been shootings at a state senator‘s house in champlin and a state rep’s in brooklyn park. suspect is apparently impersonating law enforcement and still on the loose, info on him - x.com/mn_crime/sta...

Jacob Frey's Uptown: Sun is shining, flowers are blooming, new shops are opening every day. Aisha Chughtai's Uptown: Just saw a guy rolling a green residential organics bin across Lyndale Ave in the rain. I can't think of a legitimate reason to do such a thing.

If I wasn't a sprawling business with shadowy funders could I shop at a grocery store that sells the kind of indoor putting green you'd see in the villain's office in an 80s movie about corporate greed?

Lawyer Dan is the real hero.

One thing I've learned through this process is that there is no Ward 14 in Minneapolis and I pray for those who have potentially violated the law by claiming otherwise. Fortunately I never got sucked into that dark corner of YouTube that promotes Ward 14 trutherism.

I've done no market research on the wedge live podcast audience but extensive quotations and screenshots contained in formal complaints lodged with courts and government agencies show that the most loyal listener is a hate listener.

Legal/fashion update: Coming down to the wire, so I'm prepping how to answer questions like, "Are those Amazon-brand black dress pants? Isn't that exactly the way someone would dress if they were covering up how much money they received from powerful interests?"

Conspiracy bait: Who funded my talking points about having great community events despite the parking crisis??? 8 yrs of putting on a hugely popular event, not turning a profit—just to promote walking, biking & bus riding? If nefarious interests aren't paying me, they should be.

Just received a cat tour application from the owner of this roof cat in Whittier. Would make an amazing tour stop but I had to turn them down. I can't lead potentially thousands of pedestrians that far beyond the Wedge.

The counterpoint might be, what we did with relatively little money was substantial and effective, so next year we will do a lot more by spending the entire budgeted amount.

I'm not a lawyer, but I've decided the root of the legal complaint against Taylor is that it's illegal for her to be more popular than the cranks and weirdos trying to destroy her. "Taylor is so popular laws must have been violated" is a related argument to "I'm too white to be popular."
