Great thread and replies! I listened to a podcast where C. Thi Nguyen talked about how constraints foster agency in players. If you're given a ball to throw anywhere you want, it's not very interesting. If you are told to shoot the ball through a hoop, the choices are limited but you have a game.

Finally started playing Super Robot Wars X on my PS Vita. Mashin Hero Wataru is the anime of my childhood, a show about a child protagonist isekaied to be the saviour of another world. I especially love how the protagonist shouts out his attacks, with kanji/Chinese text appearing on the screen.
