In a swift response to this morning's hearing, District Court Judge William G. Young has just ruled that the directives that led to 100s of grant terminations at the NIH are arbitrary and capricious. The directives + subsequent terminations are illegal, he said. "They are of no force and effect."

The was the second CD to enter my home growing up. The first was Born in the USA by Bruce Springsteen. BELIEEEVVVVEEE

"They were waiting for me when I got off the plane... I was not prepared for them having a file on me... If you are deleting social media ~48hrs before your flight to the US, *it is already too late.*" Australian journalist denied entry to US, detained + deported for writing about Columbia protests

"June 14 may have signaled the start of a new chapter of his tenure. That is, a new chapter of pushback amid a sense of growing peril..." www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...

I did an event in DC & there was a party for donors etc after. Was talking to 2 ppl & I said "Things are so bad." They said "No this is how it is. Things swing one way, then another. It's normal." That's when I realized why Dems are toothless. They have no idea what this is. Frogs boiling in water.

the refusal of center left institutional types to recognize that sometimes they're the ones who have to compromise in an election makes me really mad the people who I find myself allied with when they're right about electoral compromise won't do it when the shoe is on the other foot

A dazzling ocean of tulips stretching endlessly in Hokkaido, Japan...

The amount the Dutch spend on cycling seems extravagant, but occurs because they view each penny as an investment. By calculating lifespan costs (and savings) to society, they prioritize infrastructure that gets people out of cars and onto more active, sustainable and efficient modes: bit.ly/4kST2tK

A lot of folks warned that pardoning the J6 criminals would create a permission structure for more political violence. They were right. www.politico.com/news/2025/06...

The owner of Twitter sends out 100 right wing propaganda tweets every single day and the algorithm is set up so that every single person on Twitter has to see every single one of these tweets. Now here’s another piece about Blue Sky’s ideological diversity problem.

It is so refreshing to hear an elected politician talk about not caring about their political career being over if they do a thing. I also don’t think that would be the case here for AOC here.

It is astonishing how much the information ecosystem as accessed via Google search has deteriorated over the past 2 years.

Fifteen years ago today, we first published this primal scream from the most disrespected font. (Written by the great @mikelacher) www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/im-...

The stupidest people are in charge because we couldn’t prosecute a political crime because it would look too political.

hold on I’ve heard they’ve invented an even smaller violin

Yesterday showed that he is extremely weak. I feel strongly that he is vulnerable to being removed from office by Congress. But people are going to have to demand it. We must get the House to impeach.

i would like some political reporter - any political reporter - to get one of the following reps on the record about mike lee and bernie moreno's comments: - brad finstad - tom emmer - michelle fischbach - pete stauber both finstad and emmer served with her. ask them what they think of these lies.

Major media have a short attention span. The huge "No Kings" protests were good for photo ops on a Saturday, and coverage was eclipsed by the Minnesota assassination. But what's really lacking are step-back stories about what 2,000 protests in 50 states mean for Trump's standing and the resistance.

In some countries, like the UK, there’s a (relatively recent) tradition of letting the party of any lawmaker killed in an act of political violence run unopposed in the by-election. It lets people know violence cannot change the balance of power. It would be good for the US to do this.

I know a lot of folks like this account. But this is a wild, and unhelpful, exaggeration--it's a resistance version of sean spicer. It veers into #resistanceporn and trades accuracy for clout, like other "blue maga" grifters on here. Pls consider finding other sources of inspiration/news/motivation

“i asked chatgpt” “i asked grok” well i asked agatha harkness and she said if i wanted straight answers i should ask a straight lady

Donald Trump is a mad king. He’s deported a 4-year old and arrested a U.S. Senator. Between those two fall the rest of us. He must be stopped.

@msnbc.com reporter at the 1:15 mark. “The chaos you’re seeing is not the result of peaceful protestors, it’s the result of actions of law enforcement, specifically the Los Angeles sheriff’s department.” #nokings

Stop reading the New York Times. They are a rightwing rag now. “All the news that’s fit to print” my ass. Same with the Washington Post

“But the protests always turn violent at night.” Because by then the cops are bored nothing’s been happening so they start the violence themselves Same thing happened in Ferguson. The George Floyd protests. On and on and on. And the media just regurgitates the lie that it’s the protesters

Every Boston video I have seen from yesterday does not support the idea that 1 million people turned out. The two widely shared aerial videos have been debunked, from months ago. I would expect to see far more buzz about how crowded that would have been—but I haven’t seen it. This is bothering me

Another protest sign I saw online that made me laugh and laugh— Hit him where it hurts! 😆

These people are the enemy.

Here we go…

I am starting worry about the 3.5% stat backfiring. It could become an artificial red line for House members to use as their benchmark for impeachment, rather than looking at historic turnout and the high crimes in plain sight. They should impeach now.

The Alt National Parks crowd estimate is very clearly not true. Also why are you getting news from an account called "alt national parks?"
