Morgan and I might team up on watercolor wood burning. Test run kicked ass.

ICYMI. This week's Alaska Landmine column| One-third of the revenue for the FY26 budget comes from PFD cuts - the largest share ever - which in turn is dumping a record fiscal burden on middle & lower-income Alaska families. #akleg buff.ly/0lKs9SL

2028 pineapple harvest could be at least three pineapples!

Listening to this CBJ assembly discussion on RCV...

Got to work with Microsoft on ethical usage of AI in government today. They asked for us to be at proof of concept stage. I had 7 System Prompt stacks running on a localized LLM with 22 endpoints in a working Flask API. Still a big iron AI skeptic. Maybe moreso tbh.

Full color photo print on state resources of a phone pic of a TV screen. 10/10. No notes.

I should've posted some wild shit like this at 1am after we closed two schools. lmao. Well done tho. We're all so very proud! ⭐

Session ends this week without a hint of a plan for the reckoning. All really good bills on floor today, but like...🤷‍♂️?!

For folks at home: This is a compliance test that allows *multiple avenues* to compliance. It isn't a pass/fail binary. What is occurring: Alaska tried to exclude monies on one side of the equation and literally forgot to account on the other side. Because margins were already tight, we failed.

HFIN was content to let Rep. Eischeid swim in circles all afternoon and not navigate a single thing. Unfunded mandates befuddled him. He wasn't prepped on credit requirements. He readily admitted he "just wants to get the bill passed". Sine Die, please and thank you. #akleg

Lupo and Sedaris were dope tonight.

Be interesting to see if my long pending promotion is impacted by the hiring freeze. I was hired to do analytics and serve as an SOA Data SME last year. I became the primary architect on multiple payroll solutions. We've saved millions and changed trend. I don't even work for finance.

For school board I would use personal leave accrued at base and have to forego shift differential premium pay for a $248/mo net stipend. For Disability Law Center, in-persons are reimbursable, but upfront are like $2k each. I probably couldn't serve if not for COVID. No stipends.

BASIS has a new field, "Hometown". #akleg

"Though legislators can examine raw data, they don’t have the resources to process them." Skills gap.

Received early permanent status as the Analytics and Data Governance Manager for DOA, and we're looking into some fun strategic operations projects. Celebrated by accidentally having a double declaration hiding in code all afternoon.

Happy to confirm we still have the best clerks office in the nation AND closed captioning for our borough meetings on YouTube simulcast from zoom.

Called the CBJ clerks this morning: They're aware that they don't have closed captions on their govt hearings since they pivoted to zoom simulcasting on YouTube. They're hoping to have that resolved by EOD. If not, I've got an app already built.

It's not trivial, but for like $5k you can run a pretty wild 100% local AI setup with little/no prompt constraints that you can use as a force multiplier for anything. What do we do when that's like $2k and a point-click install? That's probably 1-2 years out at most.

Hello, I serve on the board for this organization, which serves as the Protection and Advocacy Agency for the state and keeps us compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The elimination of the Administration for Community Living was announced while we were hiring our exec dir.

Congrats to Juneau for making the news with our most embarrassing collaboration ever between left-wing and right-wing conspiracy theorists.

Dear ai, make me a propaganda poster where I look cool fighting drugs, but drugs look cooler.
