Spent the evening amongst happy City fans singing the same songs about home support being shit as I heard Millwall sing in the reverse fixture in August. Shouldn't we just have an amnesty? Accept that away fans are louder everywhere for lots of reasons, junk the chants, and move on with our lives?

It's rubbish. The old format was rubbish, this is rubbish. There isn't a reformatting which solves the problem that European football is fundamentally uncompetitive and UEFA are just finding new ways to whittle things down to the same dozen teams.

Off sick thoughts: in 1995, what on Earth were Cast playing at, releasing a chirpy indie song called Alright just months after Supergrass had scored a massive hit with... a chirpy indie song called Alright?
