A mix of sadness, fear, beauty and shame is what I’ve been feeling lately. So strange and bittersweet.

I love books so very much.

Could not agree more. The Prez & VP are shameful, embarrassing Putin puppets & a disgrace to our country. 🤮 #SlavaUkraine 🇺🇦

Ashamed to be an American today. Disgraceful.

Started AVOWED today, and it’s made me very happy so far!

And now onto a collection of botanical horror stories. While the world is falling apart, reading *unnaturally* scary things has proved to be quite helpful in… keeping things together.

ASUNDER by @kerstinhall.bsky.social is a wonder and a gift, and the sequel can’t come out fast enough 💔🫠 Feeling very grateful for this novel so dense with rich world-building and tragically relatable characters, and gore.

Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine 🇺🇦 Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine 🇺🇦 Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine 🇺🇦 #SlavaUkraini 🇪🇺🇺🇦 Wake up #Fellas

We’re 10 days into the month, and I haven’t bought a single book 😌 Something to be proud of, giving the book buying frenzy of January!

Loving this New Weird gem by @kerstinhall.bsky.social The atmosphere slightly resembles one of the beloved Disco Elysium, but with odd magics, strange world factions and creepy gods(demons?). Also, it’s very cozy and I don’t feel like rushing my reading at all! 11%

I love that Canada is standing up to a bully.

This was… wonderful. Weird tales with a lot of heart—the strings of mine were touched more than once ❤️ There’s also a pinch of classism there, but overall nothing as atrocious as Lovecraft used to passionately express in his works haha Bottom line: May Sinclair is cool #weirdgirlies

They were told in advance: DO NOT OBEY IN ADVANCE. And yet they’re doing it.

May Sinclair is such a delight to read 🌹🌹🌹

Women’s classic weird/gothic fiction just hits differently. A female protagonist cannot travel on a whim to a distant town, find a forbidden artifact and lose her mind. Her hell is mundane and invisible, and it makes the horror too real.

I just love books so much……

And there I wondered what the prequel would be like

Tesla trucks are so uncannily ugly irl 😐 Why would anyone aside from the obvious

Dear Universe, may I have some professional success now?

Got my first order from @swanriverpress.bsky.social and it’s so beautiful! Thank you for the bonus bookmarks and postcards! I’m so happy and looking forward to the journey with Friends and Specters ✨

Reading that book on the history of eugenics has proven very stressful so far.

My writer of the year is definitely @anneapplebaum.bsky.social — her works have snapped my eyes open on so many issues and added a lot to my understanding of what’s going on in the wider world. Also, as a Ukrainian, I am so grateful for her brilliant book on the Holodomor.

It’s so easy to catch a panic attack due to “politics” these days—whoa. 🫠
