❓ How many ways are there to measure a tree? This article from our project Voices of the Future seeks to question “whether the outcomes and benefits of tree-measuring are simply ‘data’ about trees" and advocates for transdisciplinary knowledge🌳🤝. Read the article 👉 buff.ly/on0T1LC

"Why do you 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 talk about Pakistani grooming gangs? There are 𝙩𝙚𝙣 times as many white grooming gang suspects?" @maitlis.bsky.social asks ex-Reform MP @rupertlowe.bsky.social why he won't denounce all perpetrators of grooming gangs equally.

Soil scientists hard at work - it's not all lab coats and sterile environments! #soilscience

This is what Roy Jenkins had to say about immigration on 8th November 1966, when he was Home Secretary. Not only an economic case; but "To live apart, for a person, a city or a country, is to lead a life of declining intellectual stimulation."

The @teamlabouruk.bsky.social doesn't seem to realise that if people are inclined towards Reform or the Conservatives, they will hate Labour no matter what they do. It's tribal, historic, and means they'll lose their voter base while ensuring the opposition laugh into their single malts.

Why is the lesson of history always that people feel loss and insecurity, so they vote for strongmen and authoritarians, who always make things worse? I can't commemorate #VEday in the UK because humanity has clearly learned nothing from history.

🚨Your US government is now in kidnapping Venezuelan children. Not family separation. Kidnapping. They took a 2-year-old child from her parents, deported the mother to Venezuela, and have imprisoned the father in a Salvadoran torture prison without charge or trial. Every day, new evil level reached

Thread. A good one.

Reform, Reform, Reform. In other, obv. less interesting news, the LibDems and Greens are surging ahead in Gloucestershire, and the LibDems are likely to take the council from the Tories. But let's not talk about that & keep on amplifying Reform so people will vote for them because...celebrity.

#Agriforestry - integrating trees into farming - has huge benefits for wildlife, livestock, climate and the soil. How much support is there among farmers? Our research project Agroforestry Futures reveal their findings. #farming #agriculture

How do we support and grow #biodiversity within #forests? Well, it's not simple. Here's just one example of the complexities - Scots pine forests. Read our latest Impact & Insights Note over on LinkedIn. buff.ly/B9itNM4

By "free speech," the Americans mean creating a media environment in your country dominated by American digital fascism preparatory to right-wing regime change. Vance essentially said as much in Munich. Give in now, forget about sovereignty later. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

There are conflicts like this all over the UK from companies and insurance deciding that trees pose a risk. But either we support nature in all its wildness or we won't have any left. Time for TPOs on all historic trees. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...

The more I think about this (and I should really stop thinking about it), the more these people sound like young children. What next? “The UK won’t take our chicken. But our chicken is beautiful and theirs smells of wee! Nyah nyah! Take that, you UK poopie heads.” Etc.

Really great breakdown/explainer as to why everyone in the UK is feeling the pinch... #austerity #inequality #economy www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUKa...

This is cool. The Guardian recreated a searchable climate future risk tool (wildfire, extreme heat, drought, hurricane, and coastal flood) for the US that was developed by FEMA but deleted by the Trump administration’s ‘climate’ purge.
