Some of you may recall our quest to save a pigeon last week. Just learned yesterday was #PigeonAppreciationDay. I asked the artist who made these if I can print them out for hub (who says the pigeon experience changed his life for the better, calls it his "Pigeon Religion"). #Birds #Art #PigeonSky

Took 3 hours at healthcare facility to work through pre-op stuff (surgery next week). Afterward, saw this big pink-frosted-with-sprinkles cookie at their snack stand & like a kid, I *had to have it* LOL Then remembered I still had to do my blood tests & surprise! My sugar levels were high (d'oh).

Judge told us today that 10% of his defendants have gone missing/been moved (feds just moved one to a detention center in US Virgin Islands). Along those lines, a lawyer just hired me to try & find someone who's missing. Some days my heart breaks.

Pigeon story: yesterday we went to take it to bird rescue & it was gone! No sign of disturbance. We've been looking for it. Nothing. It'd been alert, calm, no outward signs of pain...we're hoping for the best. Hub says experience made him appreciate life even more, calls it his "Pigeon Religion" 🐦

Happened to have dog-vet appt today. Showed pic of bird to vet, who said definitely wing is broken. Heard back from bird rescue-sanctuary. We need to drive pigeon to them. It's a longish drive, but doable. We're rearranging our work schedules to get pigeon to them by 4 pm (when they close).

We found a pigeon on our front porch this morning. Seems it has a broken wing. It's staying in a shady area & we gave it water. Contacted sheriff who put us in touch w/ a bird rescue, waiting to hear back from them.

Daughter-in-law (baby #2 on way) w/ our grandson, getting his first haircut ❤️ (Amman, Jordan) Baby's parents do humanitarian work in Sudan & Syria. On phone today, hub said, "We'd love to see you, but being in US now is like being in a lion's [colorful language.]" Son: "We have our lions, too."
