As of 9pm, a confirmed tornado is now about 16 miles southeast of Greensburg, Indiana moving northeast at 50mph. Will be in Fayette and Union County in about 30 minutes (~9:30pm). Tornado may dissipate or survive. Worth watching.

As I mentioned Sunday evening, there is the potential for snow over eastern Newfoundland on Friday. Computer guidance seems to converge on this being more likely rather than less. Amounts, timing, etc, still not exactly clear. Details will be provided later today in the blog on @NTVNewsNL. #nlwx

Given the current model guidance, tomorrow does not look good for chasing at all. It appears the main show will be embedded within the line and will be towards the evening hours. Will continue to monitor model data to see if any prefrontal storms could develop before making a final decision.

Hopefully, the volcano erupts soon. The Anchorage Volcanic Ash Advisory Center, which covers the entire state, is part of NOAA and NOAA is in the crosshairs for massive staff reductions. The sooner it erupts, the more likely there will be staff to alert everyone who needs alerting.

January is climatologically the warmest and 2nd wettest month of the year for Australia. January 2025 was the second warmest January in 75 years (2019) and the driest January in 30 years. 🦘
