I know from experience: When we fight, we win. This week, we stopped the GOP from stealing a North Carolina Supreme Court seat. Democracy Docket reported every update on this case. Subscribe to its free newsletters for the latest on all the lawsuits to come: hubs.ly/Q03jcjqP0

I grew up believing that we had learned the lessons of the German poem and Martin Luther King Jr's speeches. We would all speak out if we saw democracy threatened and the rule of law under attack. I will always speak out against wrong. I will always stand up for democracy. I will not back down.

I am not often quoted in @nytimes.com DealBook, but I hope the business community is listening.

Bravo, young man! www.comicsands.com/autistic-boy...

All of this on a weekday we’re in complete awe of you. You always rise to every call to action. You’re amazing, and words can’t express how much we love and appreciate you all.

Trump and his administration have lost seven cases so far today.

Today is Economic Blackout day. No big chains. No Amazon. If you need to shop, then shop local.

38 of the 43. "38 of 43 experts cut last month from boards that review science and research in NIH laboratories are female, Black or Hispanic. "The scientists typically serve five-year terms and were not given a reason for their dismissal..." www.washingtonpost.com/science/2025...

Says the guy whose charity was shut down by the state of New York for making illegal campaign contributions.

The RNC and NRCC are bigly upset that we kicked their ass in court in Pennsylvania.

I want the various Smithsonian concerns to take it to court every damn time this administration wants them to change something. They say something is ahistorical? Make them prove it. You know they can’t

We were told not to share this publicly, but last year was record-breaking—America’s national parks saw over 331 million visits.

Hey, Politico -- I consider myself to have "long-term standing in the private legal community" and I have been willing to speak out almost every single day. And, I'm not alone. Yes, there is widespread cowardice among law firms, but don't ignore those refusing to bow down. Defiantly, Marc Elias

Reminder: If you’re sharing information, protect yourself. Documents and communications often contain hidden watermarks, intentional typos, odd punctuation, inconsistent spacing, or stylized phrasing—all designed to uniquely identify the source.

It is a sad day for the legal industry. Paul Weiss, didn't just bend a knee, it set a new standard for shameful capitulation. This is a stain on the firm, every one of its partners, and the entire legal profession.

I founded Democracy Docket in 2020 to be fearlessly independent and unapologetically pro-democracy. Its work is more important today than ever before and so is your support. Consider becoming a member today. www.democracydocket.com/member-me/

Today is the 1st day of early voting in WISCONSIN for WI 4/1/25 election for WI Supreme Court & WI Superintendent! WI VOTE Judge Susan Crawford & re-elect Dr. Jill Underly! DNC today announced a historically early investment to WisDems @wisdems.bsky.social coordinated campaign! www.peoplevmusk.com

I want to share with you three rules for fighting tyrannical fear and intimidation, gleaned from discussions I’ve had with a number of people who have lived in repressive regimes. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/how-to-respond-to-fear-and-intimidation

The members of the Jan 6 Committee are all proud of our work. Your threats will not intimidate us. Or silence us.

I am tracking 3 separate cases where the government is violating court orders. The question now is whether judges find willfulness and hold officials in contempt. Democracy Docket members will receive my latest on this and more in their inboxes tomorrow. Join now. www.democracydocket.com/member-me/

If you're reading this, & you know any like-minded folks (or those who don't follow politics) in Wisconsin, call/text/email them to catch up & see if they have a plan to vote on April 1! ⏰ Early voting starts 3/18! Incentive: Musk has skin in the game. See second post. 1/3 www.crawfordforwi.com

There are only two things that stand between Trump and being a dictator -- the courts and elections. Trump wants to send a clear message to law firms that he will go after them. It is ok to be afraid, the question is what do you do. Do you hide and cower in fear or stand tall and say it is wrong?

Have FUN!!!!! #Anonymous

Every time I read a story like this I recommit to be louder and more defiant.

Please listen and share—this is a very serious situation. This is extremely alarming! The Trump administration, across two agencies, is considering bringing criminal charges against employees simply for doing their jobs.

If you're 60, 69.1% of all job growth since your birth occurred under Democratic administrations. If you're 45, that number is 74.7%. If you're under 30, the number is 100%.

What the actual fuck?! America, something must be done!

I am the great-grandson of a man who led his family out of the shtetl to a strange land in search of a better life. I am the grandson of the three-year-old boy on that journey. As you know, my name is Marc, but my Hebrew name is Elhanan—after the warrior in David’s army who slew a powerful giant.

I will use every tool at my disposal to protect this country from Trump. I will litigate to defend voting rights until there are no cases left to bring. I will speak out against authoritarianism until my last breath. I will not back down. I will not bow or scrape. I will never obey.

In future generations, when your children and grandchildren look back on this moment, they are not going to ask about the price of eggs. They are going to ask you what you did. Not what you felt. Not what you paid. But what you did. And I want to be able to say I did everything I possibly could.
