Renters who want subsidized housing now must submit fewer documents when their number is called.

We all agree, children live happier, healthier lives when they grow up in a stable home. A lack of affordable housing and safeguards force us to choose between food on the table and a roof over our heads.

The data is clear: evictions can undermine our economic well-being and make it hard to put food on the table and support our families.

I'm a soft person. I'm highly sensitive. I'm empathetic to a fault. I believe in putting love 1st. But I am also down to defend myself, which may look very different and may be very uncomfortable for you. I will never apologize for it.

If you are certain that I or people like me are not already trying to do something, and you're coming around to correct my comments talking about "we". You're gonna have to block me about that too. No way I'm hustling irl to be talked down to on fucking bluesky

NYC people, let's elect ourselves a mayor who is a good person and who fights for us, not himself. Rank Zohran and do NOT rank Andrew Cuomo anywhere on your ballot!

Actually, I'm going to have an attitude about every politician so you can block me now if that's too much for you. We're experiencing emergency after emergency in America. I'm not longer going to entertain your parasocial relationships with AOC or Bernie or whoever

Left-ish politicians: Theatrics + performance has gotten you this far, but if you're not making TikTok videos about what exactly you're doing to solve an issue, I don't really want to hear you, frankly. "We need to talk about--" Nope. We talked already. Then you were elected. Get to work now.

Just a reminder that this is happening all the way through June 22nd. Check out the links in the thread to get involved!

Mark Zuckerberg’s charity quietly cuts funding for affordable housing, homelessness groups

My crazy radical tankie opinion is that guaranteed public housing and transportation networks for all does a lot to liberate women and lgbt people

BREAKING: The Chicago City Council has voted to create a city-owned nonprofit housing developer. The city will now move ahead with Mayor Brandon Johnson’s plan to build affordable, mixed-income, sustainable housing.

The @nytimes.com mapped donations from every neighborhood across the city in the mayor’s race — what they found was astonishing. Not only do we have the most individual donors in the race, they come from neighborhoods across each of the five boroughs. This movement is citywide.

This is the real deal btw. I have never in my 39 years had someone knock on my door to discuss a campaign, but I received a door knock this evening from Zohran volunteer. This campaign is very serious about serving working class New Yorkers. This is not a movement you want to ignore or dismiss!

Hey hey! If anyone in NYC is interested, you can help get @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social elected for Mayor! I just signed up to do phone-banking this coming weekend, and I would like to extend the invitation! volunteer.zohranfornyc.com/phonebank-fo...

"The reality of public housing when it began mid-twentieth century,[was that] public housing was mostly for working-and lower-middle-class white families." -Richard Rothstein It's 2025. We all need joyful housing

Since interacting with @cooperatives.bsky.social recently, I've joined a credit union, been waitlisted to become a member of a food co-op, + now I actively look to purchase products from Certified B Corporations. Wanted to help spread the word + confirm that your efforts made a difference for me ❤️✌🏾

You know what costs less? Housing.

Source of income discrimination is illegal in NYC, meaning landlords can't reject a tenant just because they use a rental subsidy. But the city’s Commission on Human Rights still counts it as among the most common types of housing discrimination it sees. bit.ly/4iLZq4B

People with glasses and contacts have to realize that we have a disability that just happens to be highly accommodated for in modern society and that accommodation is the only reason why poor eyesight is not considered a disability.

For more than three decades, JFREJ has been on the front lines of the fight for a city that works for working people. It's a profound honor to have their support as we build this campaign for every New Yorker who believes in the dignity of their neighbors.

Today, I am excited to announce the endorsements of six elected officials who fight for the working class each and every day. We are building a transformative campaign for a more affordable New York City and I am humbled to have their support.

one thing i keep thinking about is how there is simply no way to design a constitutional system that can resist authoritarian incursion if participants in that system do not actually care that much

In March 2020, Andrew Cuomo ordered nursing homes to take in patients with COVID. He spent the next five years trying to cover up the consequences. I visited Peter and Daniel Arbeeny, who lost their beloved father Norman, to learn about the fight for accountability and justice.

Americans are suffering under the weight of sky-high housing prices. Today, I’m re-introducing my bill with @warnock.senate.gov and @cleaver.house.gov to build 3 million new homes, bring down rents by 10%, and cut red tape that drives up costs. Congress must act.

It’s been 72 hours since federal agents abducted a legal permanent resident from our city and Andrew Cuomo still hasn’t said a word.

Join us Sunday to learn how to unionize your building! Most Berkeley tenants now have a legally-enforceable right to unionize their building and collectively bargain with their landlord!

What motivates me to be involved w/ housing & mental health activism is the raw, painful feeling that most of my life was stolen from me. I spent so much time fumbling around, trying to survive in a system that didn't want me to. I want to help correct & build a system that allows ppl to thrive.
