'Up to' doing some heavy lifting this morning

Wondering how many F35As = 1 dreadnought and how many £s would added to a useable defence budget if a dreadnought got dropped from future order books.

Last game of the season and staggered that neither Talksport or Beeb are doing the national league play-off final. Two 5live channels doing the same **** cricket match though!

Iconic image. SBU Chief Malyuk during the “Spiderweb” special operation.

It's amazing how few media outlets have talked so far about Ukraine's incredibly successful attack on multiple Russian military airbases. They don't seem to be following the right sources. There's a wealth of photo and video evidence on Ukrainian war-related Twitter accounts. Everything spelled out.

31 May 1941 | An Italian Jewish boy Mario Sonnino was born in Rome (on the left). On 23 October 1943, he was murdered in a gas chamber at #Auschwitz II-Birkenau. He was murdered together with his sister Césira and his brother Sandro.

Excitment to have a new phone < effort needed to set up new phone.

HR storm clouds are getting closer with repeated reminders on **** work intranet for everyone to 'check and update your continuous and reckonable service dates...' #nhs

decades-long manhunt finally ends

Went to Paris for a weekend with the picture box #paris #xt50

I was led to believe wood pigeons mated for life and grieved if bereaved, but a sparrow hawk took one of the mating pair in my garden and the survivor moved on within one day and now already has a nest with the new bit so I’m wondering if the assassination was in fact a hired hit.

OTD in 1997 Russia & NATO signed the “Founding act on mutual relations, cooperation and security” in which we promised not to use force on anyone & respect borders. Lol It makes no mention of any promise by NATO not to admit new members. Odd, given it’s so very important to us.

Guillemots at Bullers of Buchan last week. Couple of bridled birds and egg visible in pic 1, and a few Kittiwakes in pic 2 #birding #birds

Home after a week in Scotland. Super weather, super critters #birds #birding

But remember, *you* can only have two dolls and five pencils

I like this kid.

Really classy Daily Mirror front page on the 80th anniversary of VE Day. This Philip Zec celebrated cartoon was in the paper on this day in 1945

Absolute cruellest trick. Glimpsed some yellow in the office kitchen cupboard, thought maybe, just maybe, it was my #ncfc mug left here and lost since pre-covid days. And this, this was just a knife through my merch driven soul. Shouldn't be allowed.

For every doll you deny me I will push another jet off an aircraft carrier

Because of the weirdly good start to British spring/summer, Ive neglected Tiny Town. Need a good dose of short dark days with the loft somewhere between freezing and two jumpers so I can get going again. Sorry Tiny Town. Back soon. #ngauge #soonbeautumn

Searched, waited for, and failed to find any Whinchats ystdy, but happy to have stumbled across a couple of v obliging Grey Partridge at the end of the day #birds #wiltshire #fujifilm

1804. Oceans are now Battlefields. In the South China Sea a British convoy worth almost £1bn today is spotted by the French. It should be a massacre. Instead, Commodore Nathanial Dance is about to defeat a French battle squadron using some paint and the most overplayed hand in #navalHistory. /1 🧵

@jamiemctrusty.bsky.social I thought you might be interested in these SBD Dauntless Midway photos from 1942.

Can't go far this weekend so just a wander around town this morning #wiltshire #fujifilm #xf35mmf2

24 April 1893 | A German Jew, Alfred Dresel, was born in Fraustadt (Wschowa). A businessman. He tried to leave Europe on MS St. Louis. After the forced return to Europe he stayed in France. Deported, via Gurs & Drancy, to #Auschwitz. Murdered in a gas chamber on 28 August 1942.

Our cover this week.

Bloody delighted for Farke. And God knows I never thought I could think this, but hope Leeds do well from the off next season.

Blessed with a few hours of early morning sunshine, mission accomplished today #sedgewarbler #birds #wiltshire

shop.viz.co.uk/viz345bs This bluey/greeny colour discovered by scientists is nothing new. An article from Viz issue 67 ... 31 years ago.

It's warbler time, summer is here #wiltshire #birding

A few more from the new picture box. Looking forward to some time off to get to know it better #fujifilm #wiltshire

Loved this poster in a window oop North #badcat

Happy birthday to Sean Bean who, despite dying multiple times, turns 66 today. To celebrate here’s a compilation of him as Sharpe saying ‘bastard’. Enjoy. youtu.be/tE8d-uGmIWk?...

speaking as a dog owner here - y’all, keep your dogs on leash when you’re out in public, my god. This isn’t hard

On the anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, we thought we'd answer a question that's often asked, "If they raised the Mary Rose, why not raise the Titanic?" Allow our scaled diagram to explain...
