Hallucination Weekly #1 zef.plus/hallucinatio...

This piece: “Is AI a Silver Bullet?” is absolutely the best one I’ve read so far on the whole “will AI replace engineers” topic (spoiler alert: no). It’s a long read, and you need to read it closely but good stuff. Will likely write up a few nuances on this. ian-cooper.writeas.com/is-ai-a-silv...

“Well that depends, where are you in Zef’s Level Framework of AI Coder Adoption (ZLFOAICA™)?” “Level framework!? How exciting, tell me more!” “Fine, let me pull up my deck.” zef.plus/levels-of-ai...

If you say “it’s over” unironically I’m going to unfollow you. Just saying.

Perhaps in the EU we will finally get some technology first.

The 4 Levels of AI Coding Adoption youtu.be/DYzoKefqhb0

Who are interesting AI people to follow on BlueSky? The level of hyperbolic noise on X is a bit much and I’m hoping for some more sensible people here. Anybody?

While it certainly has limitations, and maybe always will, AI coding is here to stay so we better get comfortable with it. In this video I’m CHOPing/Vibeing a @silverbullet.md feature I needed as a way to share some best practices that I learned. youtu.be/hmSsFVPmHKA

Interacting with an LLM is like dealing with a highly self-confident alien mind that has read the entire Internet a year ago with mixed recall. It has a significant yet limited short-term memory capacity that puts you on the clock. zef.plus/the-alien-mi...

I finally wrote a bit about my recent role pivot towards #AIEngineering. zef.plus/the-ai-engin...

Time for real talk: @silverbullet.md 2.0. I’m proposing a bit of a reboot. community.silverbullet.md/t/real-talk-...

They’re rewriting the typescript in Go: devblogs.microsoft.com/typescript/t...

I really hope AI models for coding will get better fast enough support the inevitable maintenance nightmare that all the “vibe coded” apps that are about to hit production hits.

I'm on Hacker News (again)! news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4298...

I switched to using KOReader as my e-reader app of choice (you can install it on jailbroken Kindles, Kobos, Boox and other Android based readers). You have to get over the initial UX bump, but once you're there it has all the features you'd want. koreader.rocks

Just discovered fictionaries: dictionaries you can put on your e-reader (#Kindle #KOReader) to do lookups (places, characters) of specific (fictional) book series. Super useful for elaborate series like #WheelOfTime www.thefictionary.net/authors/fant... #wotskis

Having so much fun rethinking @silverbullet.md features now that there’s Lua integration. Recorded a video about the journey youtu.be/t1oy_41bDAY?...

Recorded a video talking about the upcoming Space #Lua feature, its rationale and a demo of the current state. A long one. Enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1oy...

There is now a dedicated Plugs category on the community site to make various plugs that the community has been working on more discoverable: community.silverbullet.md/c/plugs/14

On the topic of notable plugs news: somebody revived the graph view plug, so we have this feature working again: community.silverbullet.md/t/note-graph...

Also downloading all my Audible books and converting them to mp3s with openaudible.org

Liberating the Kindle books I bought over the last decade+ (268 as it turns out) and converting them to ePubs with Calibre. Calibre is an ugly looking application (on macOS) but very functional. Feels good to have all this content safely backed up in a format that is (Amazon) device independent.

Very nice. allenpike.com/2024/an-unre...

Oh myyy…

Welcome to #WoTSkies #WheelOfTime #WoT Here’s a thread to help you get started. (If you have any more tips or links I can add here, please let me know☺️)

Node.js now supports TypeScript. Here's everything you need to know: www.totaltypescript.com/typescript-i...

I discovered The Wheel of Time book series. So see you all in a year or so.

Just finished The Hobbit movie trilogy finally. I for one would be interested in the Orc side of the story, because otherwise things surely don’t look good. History is written by those who win, I suppose.

You know how amazing strategic ideas will strike you when you’re doing something random? Shower, walk, driving? And even more so when reading very good long-form of almost any kind? So, are you taking the time to do that, or do you still think it’s a "waste?"
