For Trump, the big deadlines are always two weeks away … www.bbc.com/news/live/c9...

Great details and an amazing use of Google Earth to show the surroundings of the Iranian nuclear enrichment site buried beneath a mountain www.bbc.co.uk/news/resourc...

History repeats itself, first as tragedy then as ... well, I guess we'll find out. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Video of my question to Trump on Air Force One last night...

Last night I asked Donald Trump if he plans to renew the suspension of the TikTok ban before it expires later this week. He said "probably, yeah" and that China would ultimately approve a deal.

On Air Force One last night, I asked Trump what he could do in Washington that he couldn't take care of at the G7 in Canada. His response: "Just be a little more well-versed. Not having to use telephones so much, because I don’t believe in telephones because people like you listen to them."

The White House has just announced that Trump is leaving the G7 a day early “so he can attend to many important matters,” per Karoline Leavitt

During Donald Trump's presser with British PM Keir Starmer, the American president refered to the United Kingdom as the European Union and dropped the pages of the trade agreement on the ground. Starmer picked them up. (photo by Stefan Rousseau of PA)

Four days ago Minnesota Democrat Melissa Hortman joined Republicans to pass compromise legislation and keep the state government open. "I did what leaders do, I stepped up and I got the job done for the people of Minnesota," she said. Today she was murdered. www.bbc.com/news/live/cv...

A horrible incident - and one that could have significant (and, perhaps, intended) political consequences. Democrats have a one seat majority in the Minnesota Senate and the state House is tied. There have been contentious special elections that have flipped control three times since November

Twenty years ago, this kind of rhetoric was used in connection with the US invasion in Iraq. Now it's accompanying Marines being sent to Los Angeles.

This is a United States senator being pushed to the ground and handcuffed in the hallway of a federal office building.

Jesus Cruz worked at a car wash in Los Angeles. Last week, ICE raided the business and took Cruz and six others. His family - who says Cruz has lived in the US for 30 years, pays taxes and doesn't have a criminal record - learned he is being detained in El Paso. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

"This is unquestionably an opportunity for Gavin Newsom," said Darry Sragow, a long-time California Democratic strategist. "But this situation is about something else, as well. It's a call to duty." www.bbc.com/news/article...

Trump and his allies have felt they waited too long to respond to 2020 Black Lives Matters protests. Back in power five years later, they're eager to prove this time is different. www.bbc.com/news/article...

For on the ground live and continuous coverage of the anti-ICE protests in LA, watch BBC News Channel. www.bbc.com/news/article...

BBC is the only one covering the Los Angeles protests right now as Fox, CNN and MSNBC ignore it.

The Potomac is the new Rubicon.

I went to the "world famous" fish fry in South Carolina last week and found Democrats grappling with the consequences of an old guard that isn't ready to give up power. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Well, looks like I'm writing about Elon Musk and Donald Trump again today. As Ron Burgundy once said, that escalated quickly. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Musk tosses a powder keg into the Republican attempts to reach agreement on a spending bill - again. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Trump's attacks on Harvard are about more than reforming higher education. It's the latest in an effort to erode a traditional pillar of support for American liberalism that has been going on for decades. www.bbc.com/news/article...

“The problem with Trump is he doesn’t read …”

My favorite part of the Strom Thurmond memorial at the South Carolina state capitol is the touch-up job they had to do to reflect that he had a love child with a teen who worked for his family’s housekeeper.

These are our options?

I’m curious what legal authority the president has to target specific American companies for import taxes.

BBC Verify takes a closer looks at the claims of "white genocide" in South Africa that Donald Trump made in the Oval Office yesterday, calling some of them "demonstrably false". www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Most things in a piece of legislation are not put there by accident. Take, for instance, the exemption from the new tax on private college endowments that is exempted for religious-affiliated universities founded after 1776. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/20/u...
