Major breakthrough by the Bumann lab @biozentrum.unibas.ch: Antibiotic killing of starved Salmonella is uniformly slow. Usually reported "biphasic killing" with highly resilient persisters is an artifact of CFU readouts because plating on high nutrients kills many previously drug-exposed cells. 😳🧨👇🏼
