Then how will customers become aware of the tariffs and how will they be collected? if the tariffs $ is simply rolled into the price displayed on amazon, and the purchase price increased, will that not result in state sales tax being applied over the entire amount, i.e. a tax on a tax?
Was the original story about Amazon showing tariffs on the product page even confirmed? I've only seen second-hand reporting about "Punchbowl News" that quoted an anonymous employee
From what I have seen, only Amazon Haul (Temu competitor) was thinking of doing this BECAUSE Temu is now showing Import Taxes in the check out page. Amazon proper was never planning on doing this. They gave Melania $40M FFS, they are all in.
Yeah, as far as I can tell the statement quoted in the post we're replying to is the ONLY statement Amazon has made on this, but everybody on social media is posting as if the original "Punchbowl News" story was 100% true and accurate, and it's really bugging me
Good thing then that Trump can't even do Fascism properly. Trump is going to somehow stumble this too. The man was given everything a fascist could ask for and yet he is going to make dramedy out of it. The man provides good TV though, gotta give him that.
Unlike bezos, zuck and the rest of the cucks, I have F-u money. Which means I have enough to get by and not enough that the money owns me. F-u trump & co
All these techbro billionaires are nothing more than grown up toddlers who like to play astronaut. They don't care for anyone other than their financial well being.
Let's keep them so busy with rumors about treason between the oligarchs and trump that they have no time for anything else. They all lie to keep the masses occupied, let's do it back to them.
Such a promising idea. Maybe an enterprising lefty can create a website that tracks price increases on the top 250 items sold at amazon. I bet such a site would be a viral success.
Amazon doesn't actually know how much of an item's price comes from tariffs. In cases where they imported an item they will know the final tariff on the finished product, but tariffs also hit earlier steps in the supply chain. Even "American" products usually involve inputs that will be tariffed.
Yeah, right, Jeff. You didn't want to lose customers due to tariffs, but you're terrified of the puppet master. Thus, fealty. And erasure of ANY self-respect. 🤮
