I did watch that one yesteday! But I feel like there's more to it. Silly barafication aside - in the original the eyes and ears suggest different angle than the rest of the face. Just moving the mouth and nose up, hairline down and eyes closer together helps a lot.
Indeed! In the rough animation Glen Keane did it was looking SO GOOD, he looked like a greek/renaissance statue coming to life, but like the video said, a lot of that got lost in the "cleaned up" stage, the techniques were still new and all, but yeah, your touch ups did make great difference!
