you can definitely still use hashtags (I do)! 🩷 they've been going up in use as of late-- I think it's just rarer here for folks to browse tags. the main purpose of a hashtag here is it can get your work on certain feeds that scan for that hashtag

Oh, understood! :3 yeah I think a saw a few feeds that say to use a specific hashtag to be there, but most dont say anything xP but thanks! I'll try to search more about how to navigate here too, it seems to be a nice place :3

sometimes the feeds will look for keywords within the post or alt text as well-- makes it difficult to know when they don't tell you what the feed is looking for tho!

Gonna add to this thread to use descriptive alt text. There's a setting under Accessibility to remind you every time you post but many users will not share your work unless it has alt text describing the image for the visually impaired. It can be tricky to learn but like all skills, practice helps 😊

You can find these on people’s profiles under the ‘Starter Pack’ tab. If you need a place to start, I have starter packs of artists under a certain number of followers you can check out!

Another way to find people who may share your interests is Feeds! Feeds can be found along the left side of the app. You can like or even pin them to your homepage so you can flip between them. I have a quick tutorial for that here:

Another good way to find other artists here is artshares! At the end of the day, reaching out to fellow artists is the surest way to build your own artistic community. Many folks here host artshares regularly, and they’re always full of cool folks to check out
