I am only familiar with this edition (which I understand to be TDE 5e), but I have really enjoyed, both, the rules and setting, thus far (though, I admittedly enjoy games that are more on the "crunchier" side). :)

There are also 2 really nice computer games that I'v enjoyed a lot: Drakensang 1 & 2.
